vise painting

I promise I will post some pictures soon of my Wilton Vise. It was originally red so I want to keep the same color but in looking at the "anvil" at the rear of the vise, with the hold in the center, it looks like it was a different color. Any ideas? Most of the paint on my vise is gone but there is enough left to lead me to believe it was either a bronze color or silver, who knows. Would appreciate any and all ideas. Thanks!

The top of the anvil is usually naked.

Yep bare steel or like some of the "recyclers" do; polished finish...YMMV

Just be sure to keep it waxed so it doesn't rust!
