Walker-Turner CBS-3

Hi all, new to the forums here. Hoping to get some info about the Walker-Turner CBS-3 pictured here. I cannot locate this part in the catalogues, and am wondering what it is. I suspect it’s not the complete device, and that’s a casting number. The spindle rotates freely on two bearings, but I see no way to drive it. There is a thread hole in the main body and two plain holes on one end. The other end is what appears to be a clamp of some sort. Any idea what it is? Thanks!

Is that a drill Chuck in the center of the third picture?

SWAG, a head for engraving. It looks to have a V-belt pulley on it for driving the spindle.

I tried looking up WT duplicator, carving, and engraver


The WT flex shaft tool catalogs at Vintage machinery would not load for me. Maybe someone else will have better luck
