I know this is the Rheem low end brand that does not have as much warranty as Rheem but does anyone know if this brand of equipment has a decent reputation? Is it essentially rebadged Rheem equipment? Give me the skinny boys! :headscrat

Well unfortunately for me the advice is a day late and the Weather King is already in place and not a year old. That was why I was so committed to it. It and the furnace have been performing great so I hope things stay that way. I spent tons of time searching all over the Internet and in HVAC chat rooms and forums and the like and found little to nothing about the brand bad or good before agreeing to have this brand installed in my home. Now Goodman on the other hand I found tons of bad stuff on! I do not recall posting anything at the time on the GJ and for the life of me do not know why. Anyway the other day I got to thinking and wondered why I had never posted on here about the reputation of the brand. So they are that bad eh?......Do they have a worse reputation than Goodman? God I hope not! :wtf:

LOL UB I wouldnt say they are worse than goodman but I also wouldnt plan on it lasting more than 10 years . The good news is you have time to plan ahead now :D start putting money aside for its replacement and when the time comes it wont be a shocker or a burden . I carry Carrier products and have had little to no problems out of them . I know installers who will say ooooooooooh this is a good unit or thats a good unit but they are not the ones that have to pay if there is a problem with a unit the company installed the owner has to pay and being the owner I prefer paying jobs over warranty jobs . I used to carry a differant brand until around 2000 when problems with their new compressors started popping up at that time I had to make a decision and based on what I had seen over 20 years and also what consumer reports had to say I went with Carrier. There are not alot of manufacturers out there Trane is American standard , Rheem,Ruud and weather king are all the same company ,Carrier ,Bryant and Payne are all the same company . I carry Carrier due to the fact it is the best of the three but I will also sell Payne equipment if I need to due to pricing and feel it is good equipment today . I will say 2 years ago I wasnt fond of Payne condensors however when the new efficiency standards came out in January 2006 Carrier turned the last years builders grade units into Payne units and I have only had problems with one of those units.
