I have a Lincoln stick welder I have had for years from my father. My garage at the house is not wired for 220, so unable to use it. It is to costly to run the wire to get an outlet in the garage, and I am no to keen on welding in my garage as it is small and wood built, so probabaly would weld outside. So since I would be welding outside anyway, had the thought of havig a rain proof RV hook up box with it's own breaker attached close to the meter to possible cut the cost. I already have a heavy extension card for the welder, yea I know not good to use long cords with welders, but I mostly do small jobs/projects, if it was going to be a bigger job with more welding time, set up closer to the box. Yea it would be nice to have a dedicated welding area where you could just walk up lay it on the table, flip the swith and weld instead of have to drag every thing out set it up, do the job and have to put it all away again. But sometimes it is what is and you do what you gotta do.
Just a thought, any ideas or anyone done this before??
Thanks
