Thought about getting this from lowes and put a piece of 1/4 to 1/2 plate on one of the shelves to make a welding table out of it. Look like it would work out alright. What you fellows thinks. Some of my ideas arent that great once completed...so I ask first....lol.

product link doesn't work.... but anything you buy from Lowes probably wouldn't make a good welding table base, unless it's a section of their heavy duty store racki....

try it now i was trying to edit it the whole time...not to savy on trying to insert a link. I had to copy and past when i did it. But it is one of the big storage racks...with the adjustable shelves.

Whatever it is, it would be easier to just build a basic table. You really just need a frame with 4 legs and a top. Anything else is extra. Use the table to learn basic welding and fabrication. If your welds are really bad to start, practice first.

You would need to cut the posts down, but could be usable with a 1/4" thick top. I would suggest building your own table just to get the practice and make it fit your needs.

I probably will just build me one. I was just looking at getting one to organize some junk in the garage and had a thought.
