My understanding is that SO corporate did not want it to exist.

the only connections i had was GJ, but sounds like SO didn't like the '$99.95 forecast' threads.

It's late, and I'm stupid. Only now do I actually get what you were trying to say in the first place. I'm sorry, man. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer at times.

I didn't read it as I don't buy from off the truck, I guess it was posted by Snap On franchise owner, it's not worth the trouble if Snap On gets some beef on him.

So Snap-on corporate decides what's ok for garagejournal?

Well, that is one way to put it... I think Snap-on decides what special information they want publicly posted, and what is left for the guy on the truck to share with his customers is more appropriate, though.

That info was put up by our resident franchisees. I would imagine if corporate had a problem with it (proprietary), they would nicely ask the franchisees to take it down.

No big deal, no conspiricy.

If it was done to protect a member/franchise owner than that makes sense. But I still don't understand the reasoning. The deals are only available through the dealers right? Dealer sells would go up, and ebay flippers would go down the more people the advertisements reach (advertisements which are already published by Snap-on?).

I was thinking it was because Snap-on got tired of telling people they couldn't order them online. Or it was to "protect" the distributors who choose not to participate. Now it just occurred to me that maybe it's because the deals were posted here before Snap-on released them publicly.

those $99 deals are different from region to region and date. and not all dealers are participating. that's why it's not published in the public, only in the hands of dealers.

as for the individual dealer, he can give the flyer to one shop, one tech not another.
