What i found in my garage

Today i was specifically looking for vintage pocket knifes, but came out with several other nifty things. My first item i found was a MINT Sears pocket screwdriver with it's original lanyard thing. The next thing i found was a receipt from a grocer(?grocery=grocer?) and than i found a Stanley 34-450 measuring tape, which i may take apart and clean and check the rotary wheel on it. The only problem, last time i took apart a cheap measuring tape i couldn't put it back together again

I remember asking my older parents about if you were a millionaire and didnt want to go grocery shopping if there was a way to hire someone to go for you. Well they said you can have an online delivery service have it delivered so you wouldn't have to. So when i found that receipt i was intrigued and since i like fountain pens i also got to see how people wrote decades ago

Im getting into fountain pens and for whatever reason (im a teen) im liking the way men used to act back than 100 or so years ago. How they used to use fountain pens 1890's-1950's and carry pocket knifes around without people thinking that they were a weapon since people used them as multi-tool devices and how we used straight razors to shave,etc.

I'm not really following the thread either. Do you have vintage pocket knives in your garage already and can't find them, or do you think that for some odd reason there just might be some out there and you just are in it for the hunt?

If you're a teen, that makes your parents about mid- to late 30s, right? That's certainly not "older" in my book, though it may seem like it to you. I remember 30 being "over the hill" (like ready for a nursing home or something) back when I was your age. Now it seems incredibly young to me because I could be your grandmother. Yikes!

If you're looking for some interesting and old stuff, I've got a few sheds full of stuff in Central IL. It would sure help me out to get rid of some of it.

That's one of those index cards you can post for free on the bulletin board in the entry way of grocery stores. The numbers on the right are the poster's number, or more likely, someone who pissed the poster off.

Yep Husky folding razor knife with extra blades on my side at all times other than when I am in my Jammies .

Our son always carries a pocket knife now (his grandfather did, too). He couldn't when he went to public school (expulsion offense if anyone found out), enters the courthouse (for jury duty, to pay tickets for traffic violations - can't take in cell phones either), or going through TSA security before flying. As an inner city high school teacher, I couldn't carry one (though it was tempting at time!).
