I've seen them in use by the Garden State Parkway commission workers! Pretty cool actually. Also just saw my first robotic rug cleaner at an airport recently. It parked itself against a wall when the area got congested with people. If it's anything like autonomous projects in the Army, some of which I am involved in, the "party line" that it's not supposed to replace employees but create different classes of employees reminds me of recent tone-deaf politicians saying that various laborers losing their jobs should learn to code, but that's as far as I'm going to go on that subject.

Seriously, I was mainly joking, though. I actually enjoy raking and all other forms of year round yard maintenance. I've been doing it since I was a kid (when we could still burn leaves), which has a rewarding reifying quality all its own, and these days it's sometimes the best and only exercise I get.

So they are still in use somewhere, good to know. If you took a video of those guys and uploaded it to Youtube, yours would be the only video on the topic, from what I can tell.

I didn’t actually do an image search, I just googled “Batcheller & Sons” and saw they had acquired American Fork And Rake, so I googled that, and there happened to be an image in the results. Total fluke.lol
