You only use an lubricator at the input to a machine. If you put that ahead of a length of pipe or hose the oil will drop out of suspension and fill the line. It will then come out as a blob at the most inconvenient time. If you get it and wantto use it as a filter regulator for the system then clean all the oil from the lubricator, it will not harm it to be used dry.

Just found it in my stuff.

Ditch the oiler all together unless you can dedicate a hose to it. Other wise you'll end up with an oily mess in the tools you don't want oil in or on when using an air nozzle to blast something off. The only time those are great is when dedicated to a tool that needs constant oiling.
