Where to put regulators/valves

I recently purchased a compressor, and as I was running the wiring for it, I realized it would be really easy to plumb an air line into my basement workshop

However, I am unsure where to locate the regulator, filter(s), and ball valves

I have one ball valve at the compressor. Should I split the lines there and then and have individual regulators/filters at both ends of the line? Or should I have an extra ball valve to shut off the air supply to the basement? Or can I get away with using only 1 regulator?

Well Run one line, and install the filter as far down the line as possible, but before your first drop. Usually, pegulators are "point of use" which means your gunna want one for each drop. Also, T the drop out of th etop of the line, Then T the regulator out of the side of the drop, and install a small ball valve at the bottom of the drop for any moisturer or dirt that gets past the filters.

AS far as air in your basement, cna you tell us where the compressor is, if its in a part of the hpouse attatched or detatched... etc.

Thanks

jim

It's attached. It's a small 2-car garage so I don't intend on having much plumbing inside the garage itself. Originally I was going to run my filter/regulator/hose right off the tank. But the basement workshop is underground directly adjacent to the garage. So the line going into the basement would be no longer than 10 feet.

Well you always want the filter as far down line as possible, to collect water.
