GJ… the place I find I need tools I didn’t know existed…

I’ve come across a few places that Tsunoda chain clip pliers have been mentioned. While their purpose may be for the keeper clip on roller chain, people have also mentioned they’re great for E-clips, which are easy enough but I’ve definitely sent a few flying (and as a GJ member, obviously I now need a specific tool for them…)

So my question is which ones to buy? What have you used, and what do you like/dislike about them? I’ve seen very positive comments on several Tsunoda and Hozan models. Specifically looking for plus/minus on:

Tsunoda KT-800 (any disadvantage - I like these can be used from either the end or the side)
Tsunoda KT-802-1
Tsunoda KT-801-1
Hozan P-220
Hozan P-221

It kind of looks like KT-800 or P-221 are the way to go if you only had to choose one?

For the Tsunoda, IMO, depends on if you need 2-way and / or compact size. I have the pliers below, minus the KT-801-1, and if you can afford the space, I think serve different purposes. Recognize this is an older post, but didn't see an answer.

Tsunoda Chain Clip Pliers KT-802-1: Full sized pliers, one way
Tsunoda Chain Clip Pliers 2-Way Type KT-801-1: Compact size pliers, two way
Tsunoda Chain Clip Pliers 2-Way Type KT-800: Full size pliers, two way

For E-Cips (not really the same as chain clips) you can use a specialty tool if desired, Engineer makes two pliers based on the clip size and as expected, extremely nice, recognize the Tsunoda can do double duty, but the Engineer dedicated pliers are better if you can swing it IMO.

Engineer E-Ring Pliers PZ-01 (E-Ring Size 3-4)
Engineer E-Ring Pliers PZ-02 (E-Ring size 5-9)

i tried unsuccessfully to locate and acquire the one made by milbar years ago. it was also rebranded by some of the truck brands as well.

this topic interests me as i had no idea there were other makers of this type of plier.

Tsuonda and Engineer (Vamplier) should be easy to order, either from US re-sellers, Amazon, J(Japan)-Amazon or direct.

Uber high quality stuff. I've been extremely impressed with Tsunoda and Engineer. Some of the IPS can be hit or miss, but those two plier companies are typically hit only. Great stuff IMO. The Engineer catalog is an absolute trip as well.
