Who makes Case Equipment branded tools?

Looked at a Snap on box filled with tools over the weekend that a millwright has for sale. Some of the large (over 1 1/2") SAE wrenches are marked CASE. He said he bought them when they were working on a backhoe at the plant he was employed at. They look fairly similar to the Snap-on OXE wrenches in the set.

Does anyone know who made these wrenches? How do you value them compared to Snap-on?

My thought is they are probably produced for Case by Williams or Snap-on, like they make the CAT wrenches. However, I'd value them at about 1/3 of Snap-on; due to less interest and harder to warranty if you have a problem.

Was the country of origin stamped on the wrenches?

I don't know about Case, but most of the John Deere stamped wrenches are made in Taiwan.

JD Tools are Stanley/Black & Decker...different grades, some are USA made. I've got a JD Rat which is a Stanley with JD Rollmarks.

In the beginning the CaseIH & New Holland tools were Williams. Don't think its changed, but cant say for certain one way or the other.

The Case IH/Case tools and New Holland tools are made largely up of Snap On industrial brands. Mainly. Blue Point rebrands, Williams, etc. at the Case IH parts expo, Snap On has always had a booth. VERY FEW of them are actually Snap On rebrands though. Mainly Taiwan.

The wrenches are Snap-On or some division of, good wrenches with a lifetime warranty. The Case IH big prybars are decent too, flex a little more than I think they should, but haven't heard of anyone at work breaking one yet.

I picked up one of the ratcheting screwdrivers last fall and the important bits are Snap On, date stamp and all, with a different handle. Their reversible ratcheting wrenches are from the same maker as the Blue Point ones, coo Taiwan. The ratcheting wrenches are top hole. The tool boxes I've seen are KRA look a likes.

Thanks, guys. I'll look more carefully at the COO if I go back to negotiate more. It was in the dark, in his shed at night with a work light on the floor, so light was pretty poor in the box. I was looking at the wrenches using my phone light. My thought that I expressed to him when I saw the wrenches was that I thought they were probably made by Williams.

I'd like to bump this because I swung by the Case dealer today and saw that they had a few wrench sets on the shelf.

The lettering is very similar if not identical to a Snap-On OEX wrench, but the COO was Taiwan.

I found the identical 11pc BLCPW set from Blue Point that retails for 219.99. That makes the Case wrenches a bargain at ~70 bucks plus tax. I may grab a set.

From what I have seen , Case tools are pretty much all import Williams. Williams offers pretty much a dual line of USA and import, my guess to reach price points for different markets. A few times I have been in case or NH dealers that had rebranded 40" kra combs on sale for about $1000. Considering a kra 4107 bottom list for about $2,000, I'd call that a deal.

I checked out the New Holland tools last time I was at the dealer. Appeared to be import Williams. I assume the case tools are exactly the same just a different color, just like the tractors. We bought a CaseIH, but the neighbors NH is the same tractor with a blue hood.

I don't. Lots of trouble wtih our Maxxum 110. Hard to work on and parts are really spendy. Spent 85 dollars on an A/C switch and a cabin filter yesterday. The ride is terrible and it drinks fuel for a tractor of that size too.

That's because the parent company is CNH (Case New Holland), a subsidiary of Fiat.
