Is it gas or electric driven? It looks like a serious "Whole House vac" and I suspect the big silver cylinder is a muffler to quiet the noise down? possibly plumbed to a pipe going outside?

The blue tank certainly looks like an oversize vac canister.

Unlatch the blue tank's cover and I'll bet it lifts off and there is a filter assy, inside.

It would make a heck of a suction device for a dust collection system...

well! Whats it for< since you like it so much, you must know!

It's a "machine shop vacuum", although they have other uses. They use a Roots Blower to create high suction for picking up metal chips, or sucking up coolant sludge and the like.

The "Yellow Bellied Sumpsucker" is another brand.

Uuuum. The sticker on it says "Vacuum Cleaner".

If it is too big for your uses find a local woodworker. I am sure they would buy it.

Sad the things people throw away.

They threw away brand new mill base, whole balancers, and gave me so far 450 pounds of aluminum. He said its not worth there time to gather it up, seperate it and take it off. I dont mind, some of the stock they throw away is going home with me.
