Will a 50 AMP RV plug plug into a 4 Wire Dryer outlet?

Like the title says. In other words, will a 14-50r (male) plug into a 14-30r (female) outlet?

It should not. The purpose of various plugs and receptacles is to prevent overloading of circuits and other dangers caused by connecting loads to a circuit that it was not designed to carry.

Note that even if the X and Y blades of the connector were the same size and spacing, and the ground pin the same shape and position, the neutral on the 30 amp is a small L shaped slot, while the 50 amp uses a rather tall blade, that would not fit.

Haven't examined them in person. I thought maybe the middle blade of the 14-50 was thin enough to fit into the vertical part of the "L" on the 14-30. Then I could have used an over the counter 50-30 amp adapter for an RV to simplify things a bit.

I'll go ahead and make an adapter plug for my RV using a dryer cord and 30 amp rv female. Thanks!

Are you saying you have a 30 amp Travel Trailer plug on your RV (120V only)???

I was going to cap one of the 110 legs and just go between the other 110 and common.

At the end of the day I gave it some more thought and installed both a dryer and an RV outlet with separate wiring and breakers. The cost difference wasn't that much.
