A wet rag got the dust. I am debating using some acetone on a Q-Tip to loosen up the paint. Maybe I show leave it alone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Funny thing: The set was missing a ST-1230 socket (15/16), so I searched on Ebay. I found one and realized I was the seller. Unbelievable!

^ I have successfully removed paint spatters from painted boxes using a soft terry cloth and Meguiars Cleaner Wax.
Steer well clear of the decal - it may well be a water-transfer decal (like we used to doll up our model cars and airplanes.)

If that's a matte finish paint, a bit of DAWN dish soap mixed with warm water on a soft cloth should remove the sheen from the wax.

I would definitely NOT use acetone - it will probably remove ALL the paint.

Luckily, I noticed it before I placed a bid. Just ended the auction.

Update: I used rubbing compound on the paint spatters with success. Still debating if I should attempt the decal area.
