I have 5 Williams combination Superrench. They are in beautiful condition, but instead of the model number stamped near the open end, they are stamped USN. Were these produced for the US Navy? Can anybody tell me anything about them?
Might have been part of a tool kit - A Williams superrench in Ocean Grey meets the specs of the Ford Wrench drawing and was required in the GTB series trucks Ford produced for the Navy. "Ocean Grey" is a color used by the US Navy in WWII (among many of the grey color).
I have one as well.
1-1/4" combo wrench with a regular satin finish and polished faces.
Stamped Williams underline logo on one face, and stamped USN on the opposite face.
Raised lettering on the shank instead of the more modern stamped letters.
