Wiring led lights in pole barn/shop

I’m wanting to run 6-8 led lights on the ceiling of my 30x40 pole barn. Will 14/2 wire and a 15 amp breaker be sufficient. I’m using 12/2 for all the outlets with 20 amp breakers but I do have lots of 14/2 on hand that I would like make use it if possible.

Yes, 14/2 is fine as long as local codes allow it.

Split your lighting circuits up on the breakers. Don’t want to trip the breaker and be plunged into darkness while running table saw!

You can put 1440 watts of lighting in a 15a breaker and you are well under that

8 fixtures @110 watts = 880 watts
880 watts / 120 volts = 7.33 amperes

So you will be pulling slightly less than half of the available 15 amps. You’ll be fine.
