i am in the Process of Installing a Comfort Zone CZ230er heater, and i know i need a 40 amp breaker ,which should be here today but i also know i need 8 guage wire so do i need Solid Core or Stranded ? also do i need to run Conduit ? any help would Greatly be Appreciated

Welcome, I have never seen solid wire bigger than #10. Not that I have seen it all but solid wire bigger than #10 would be hard to pull through pipe even if it was straight run. Na, pipe is nice but does not need to be in pipe unless wire is in area that could be damage. Or if your buying three runs of #8 but I believe you will buy the romex wire that is 8/3 which can buy from HD and purchase by foot.

Can you use SE (service entrance) cable?

you will only need a 8/2 NM-b (romex) for this. 2 hots and a ground, the white can be used as a hot. What is the wattage of the heater

Comfort Zone CZ230ER it is a 7500 Watt Heater

You can use 8/2 NM-B Romex without conduit, or 8awg THHN conductors in conduit. Either way they will be stranded, not solid.

I have the same heater and ran 8awg THHN (black, red, green) in 1/2" EMT conduit to a 4" square box, then a piece of flex from the box to the heater to allow me to swivel the heater to aim it where I want. Just my experience. It's been a great heater so far.
