I reeived my order and have some questions for those of you that have used it before.

Here are pictures of my order.

Now the buckets with red covers are 3 gallons right?? Are they exactly 3 gallons??
The ones that look like 1 gallon paint cans, are they 1.25 gallons or 1 gallon each??
And the ones that look like quarts are the .625 gallons?????
What are the really small Endurashield part A's?????


Assuming that the ones that look like 1 gallons are 1.25 gallons.......that wouldn't be enough to get the 2:1 mix ratio with a three gallon bucket right??

I'd need 1.5 gallons of B for every three gallons of A right??

Since I have three of each do I just mix 3 gallons of A to 1.25 gallons of B?? (liquitile)
Or will I have a little part A left over from each bucket??


Also in the directions it says, for example, that 1 gallon of liquitile will cover 133 sq ft. Is that one gallon of mixed products (A & B) ??
Put another way, 2/3 gallon part A mixed with 1/3 gallon part B for a total of 1 gallon will cover 133 sq ft???

Now when it comes time to do the endurashield, technically COULD I mix all containers together in one bucket and have the correct mix ratio or should there be extra of one or the other?? Same question for the others.

I'm doing a floor exactly 900 sqft. I orderd enough to do the block walls but have changed my mind. Not going to.
I'm going to coat the floor in 4 sections. Thats exactly 250 sq ft each section. ( I'll have two helpers)

So should I take the bondtite part A and divide it into 4 equal containers and the same with the part B and then do it like that??

Same with liqutile and endurashield??


So many questions.
I tried to contact Fred but thought I'd post this here till I can reach him. No big deal. No hurry, weather is not cooperating around here. Just my luck. I'm soooooo excited to get this stuff down too.
But Fred, if you see this go ahead and answer here if you want.


My only complaint thus far is the volume is not marked on the containers.

My shed is 32x54.

Divided in two parts. Shop inside demensions are 30x30 which is what I'm going to epoxy.

bondtite and liquitile are 2 to 1. Your big buckets have 2 gallons of resin. When you open the bucket it will seem like there is lots of room. Its done like this so you can mix the 1 gallon of hardener to the 2 gallon bucket (then you get 3 gallons). Make sense ?

Same thing with the 3 qt bondtite mix. 2qt resin+1 qt hardener.

The endurashield is a bit different. It's .25 to 1. In this case the small container is the resin and the large container is the hardener. Got me the first time I used it but this is the correct ratio. To mix the endurashield I used an external measuring container as the 1 gallon of hardener is a real 1 gallon. The measurement of this is critical.

Ok. Now on to the next question.

Like I said, I ordered enough to do 1000 sqft because I wanted to do the one course of block wall. I've decided against this. So now I'm going to have extra everything. Should I just put everything on thicker now and use it all up?? Or have extra??

Can I use 9 gallons of liquitile on 900 sqft?? That would be 100 sqft per gallon (if no waste) Would that be too thick, especially for one coat?? Directions say 133 sqft per gallon minimum.

Your 900 ft^2 in 4 sections works out to be 225 ft^2 per section (not 250ft^2). I'm doing the same thing with an 837 ft^2 garage but it will be divided into 6 sections (or 3 if I choose to do it that way) Without a helper I'm inclined to do 6 sections. I think the key is to divide it however you want to be to be careful about dividing it down. I will be buying extra disposable buckets for mixing smaller sections. I think that you, like most of us, worry and agonize over doing this. That's understandable given 1) the cost of the product and 2) the pain of fixing a botched job.

Could I mix all the endurashield up at once or will it set up to fast to use?? From what I understand you dip a roller in it and roll it out, like painting a wall.

Since you've go the stuff use it.

For the kits you have just divide the area. For bondtite I always mixed smaller amounts than the full kit. It's much easier to handle this way. For the rolling part I would mix 3qt at a time (2 resin + 1 hardener). If you're cutting in then mix even smaller amounts if you don't think you can get done in 20-30 mins. For the first mix go cautious just so you can get used to it. By the time you've done this you'll see exactly how its behaving. I used some measuring containers I got from lowes.

For the liquitile you have 3 kits. Divide the area in 3 and dump and roll/squeegue for each area. This is the most fun of the project as the floor will start to look like you want it.

For the endurashield you can mix a whole kit or just half. It has a good working time so you can do a full kit. I'm always a bit cautious and do half kits. One warning with the endurashield. Don't exceed the recommended amount per coat (I think they say 8 mils; check the doc you have) or you will get bubbles.

And the curtain lifts!!!!

I have buckets coming out of my ears. I also bought 7-8 roller covers. 4 roller frames, 4 mixers,............ :bounce:

I'm 31. I built my first home and the one I'm in now. This floor project has brought me more anxiety than the two home projects combined. I'm not sure the birth of either of my kids was this nerve racking. I don't really know why. Maybe because there is definately a point of no return and certainly no start overs or do overs.(not easily anyway). I go over it in my head constantly. I hope I get good weather so I can do it soon. I'm taking years off my life worrying. LOL

it has a good working time (I never did find its limits but its much longer than the bondtite/liquitile). Yes it's dip and roll. You should use a spotter to make sure you didn't miss any bits and back roll just to make sure. It can be difficult to see if you don't have a helper.

I think everyone that has done a floor has felt like this. I had some nerve issues when I did mine (especially when my help kicked over 1 gallon of bondtite hardener). But that's part of the fun.

Just make sure you have it clear in your mind what you're doing. Get the mix ratio correct and make sure you mix !

Here in MN it's going to be in the 40's this weekend. I himed and hahhed around too long before I ordered the stuff. Pretty sure we're going to have some nice weekends yet but I don't want to wait. Right now the inside of my shed is finished. Walls insulated and sheated. Ceiling has tin but no insulation yet. I was going to add a heater later on when the pocketbook recovers but I may have to bite the bullet and do it now so I can do the floor. I have a torpedo heater that runs on propane but I don't want to add the humidity. When I do the floor I'll have to prop the garage door up a foot or so and poly it in. Definately wish I would've done this a month ago.

Poor guy! I do understand your concern...after all it's the first time ding such a thing. I think the recommendation to practice with a smaller amount the first time makes a lot of sense and should help to dispell some of your concerns. The only floor I've epoxied was my 400ft^2 house garage floor and I used the HD rustoleum epoxyshield kit. That worked quite well and has help up well for the past 5 years. It was a LOT cheaper than Wolverine but I'm sure not as strong or pretty looking. So I'm leaning the Wolverine way for the bigger garage floor. I share your concerns but at 59 am not going to get carried away with it. But, I do agree, it's probably a lot scarier than childbirth - because WE don't go through childbirth, thank God!! Take your time, read the directions, don't start if you don't have enough time, etc.

So what color are you using? What color chips? Filling the saw cuts? I'm inclined to not fill the saw cuts. I like to see them and like to monitor what's happening with the slab. I'm drawn to light to medium blue for a base color. My other garage was done in the tan color. Looks ok. I thought(and still do) that gray didn't make a lot of sense because it might still look like a cement slab color. The idea of something different appeals to me.

Both times I insisted that if I had to be in the room when it was going on that I was going to sit in the corner and be a (reluctant) spectator only. So thats the way it was. No cutting cords, no pulling the kid out, nothing. The corner of the room was too close. I don't care what anyone says. Child birth is not beautiful. Blood and guts and screaming beautiful???? Ahhhhhh...no.


So what color are you using? What color chips?

I'm pretty boring. Standard gray. No chips.

I thought(and still do) that gray didn't make a lot of sense because it might still look like a cement slab color. The idea of something different appeals to me.

Kinda what I wanted. I thought about tan but I have a tan house with a diferent shade of tan trim. I was worried without an actual large sample of the stuff that it might wind up being a weird looking contrast. Ya know how some reds make other reds look pink?? That kinda thing. So I went gray.

Sorry to be late to the party - was on the road pretty much all day...

For the BondTite and LiquaTile:

Three Quart Kit
1. One, One gallon can with 1/2 gallon of Resin
2. One, One quart can with one quart of hardener. (full)
3. There is room for mixing in resin can.

Three Gallon Kit
1. One, Three and half gallon pail with 2 gallons of Resin
2. One, One gallon can with one gallon of resin. (full)
3. There is room for mixing in Resin Pail

For the LiquaTile and BondTite we do state how many square feet (ft2) one gallon will coat (133), but that's mostly for reference. If someone wants to use less than a full 3 gallon kit generally people find it more convenient to break it down into a couple of 1.5 gallon mixes, using 1 gallon of Part A mixed with 1/2 gallon Part B. But if you want to use a 1/3 gallon Part A with 1/6 gallon Part B - that would work. As long as the 2:1 ratio is observed the mix will work.

The key with BondTite1101 and LiquaTile 1184 is to always use the ratio of 2 portions of Part A resin mixed with 1 portion of Part B hardener.

For the EnduraShield kits I think you will need to supply a mixing container, one that can contain 2 gallons. I like the translucent pails with the quantity markings on the outside, for your project I’d get 2 of them. Since they’ll also come in handy with the BondTite 1101.

With the EnduraShield the ratio is 1:4, that would be 1 portion Part A resin mixed with 4 portions Part B hardener.

Now when it comes time to do the endurashield, technically COULD I mix all containers together in one bucket and have the correct mix ratio or should there be extra of one or the other?? Same question for the others.

With all of them you could combine all their respective parts A, then separately all their respective Parts Bs, and if you wanted you could then combine the total part A's with the total Part B's, but I can't think of a reason why anyone would want to do that, and a bunch of reasons not to do that - so please do not do that!

Mix no more than a single full 3 gallon kit of BondTite 1101 at one time. And mix no more than a single full 3 gallon kit of LiquaTile 1184 at one time.

The same applies to the EnduraShield - Do Not mix more than a single full 1.25 gallon kit of EnduraShield 2254 at one time.

BTW _ Chemically you can mix larger portions, but we find that with the limited pot life of these products, mixing more than a single full kit can lead to the mixture hardening too much before you have a chance to roll it out.

When it's time to apply the primer BondTite 1101, in the mixing area just have the containers of BondTite material - put all the LiquaTile and EnduraShield material out of sight. Double check that the correct BondTite material is all that's by the mixing area!

With 900 ft2 for the primer coat of BondTite 1101 divide the area into 2 parts, the first part would be 360 ft2, and the second area would be 540 ft2.

Keep in mind that using less than full kits is one of the areas that can cause the biggest problems, so double check all the math – even mine below – and measure carefully. Do this before you bring out the materials to coat, and review it all once or twice. Likewise when you actually pour out and combine materials – check to be sure that all the measurements add up.

For the BondTite 1101 primer coat… Using the material from the large 3 gallon kit first, I would pour off exactly 1 gallon of the BondTite 1101 Part A resin into a clean container and set it safely aside. Next I would pour off exactly 2 quarts of the BondTite 1101 Part B hardener from the 3 gallon kit and set it safely aside.

Then I’d pour the remaining 2 quarts of the Part B Hardener into bucket with the remaining 1 gallon Part A Resin and mix them per instructions. When it’s all thoroughly combined pour it out in ribbons over the marked off 360 ft2 area and back roll per instructions.

When that’s done, using just the BondTite 1101 material, in the same mixing pail pour back in the 1 gallon Part A resin, then add the 2 quarts Part A resin from the 3 quart kit. Next add in the remaining 2 quarts Part B Hardener and the single quart of part B hardener. Mix and apply per instructions over the remaining 540 ft2 area.

That takes care of the BondTite 1101. As soon as it’s tack free – that is you can walk on it without leaving an impression - move on to the LiquaTile 1184.

For the LiquaTile 1184 I would section off three 300 ft areas and use a full 3 gallon kit of LiquaTile 1184 for each section. No need to pour off and measure partial portions. Just add 1 gallon of the Part B hardener to each pail of 2 gallons Part A resin and mix and apply per instruction. This is where you would add DecoFlakes per instructions if you’re using them.

That takes care of the LiquaTile 1184. As soon as it’s tack free – that is you can walk on it without leaving an impression - move on to the EnduraShield 2254.

For the EnduraShield 2254 divide the floor into 3 sections – the first section 180 ft2, and the last two sections 360 ft2 each.

Mix up the smaller 0.625 kit first, and apply it per instructions to the 180 ft2 section. Then do each remaining 360 ft2 sections one at a time, using a full 1.25 kit of EnduraShield 2254 for each one.

If you’re using SuperGrip 850, add it to each batch accordingly. Also, when the 2 components of EnduraShield 2254 are combined, pour it into a suitably sized roller pan and dip and roll to apply it, that works better than pouring out ribbons directly onto the floor.

Although you bought material for 1,000 ft2 and are now down to 900 ft2, there's no problems. With both BondTite and LiquaTile the more the merrier - we have commercial jobs where there's over 250 mil of each product! (we also have floors with well over 250 mils (1/4 inch) of coatings, but at that thickness generally we use different products - usually with some aggregate added.)

The EnduraShield 2254 can also be thick BUT - it's best to build it up in layers, with each layer no more than 8 mils thick wet. If it's more than 8 mils wet there's a chance small bubbles will form - doesn't affect durability, but doesn't look great. In your case that won't be a problem as long as it's applied evenly.

These guidelines should be used in conjunction with our instruction manual – they are not a substitute for the instructions. Check and double check all portions and formulas.

6 sections would be do-able, but I think that by the time you're ready to do the LiquaTile you'd find that 3 sections is more convenient.

Just keep those receipts handy!

You might go through the roller covers, but don't be surprised if you end up returning 3 of the roller frames, and 1 of the mixers.

I generally use just 2 roller frames, one of those 2 inch ones for cut ins - although I generally use chip brushes for that work, and a 18 inch roller. Unless there's going to be more than one person rolling out the epoxy you can get by with just one frame. It can be reused since any coating on it will be cleaned off.

18 inch frames, and even roller covers, have become difficult to find, neither of my local big boxes carry them anymore. I think I'll add them to our catalog 'cause they come in real handy and make things easier.

I just have 3 mixing paddles, two smaller ones that work in 1 gallon cans, those I use to premix the separate components, and I clean them between coats. The larger one I use for 3.5 and larger buckets - that one I don't ever clean, I just let the epoxy cure on it. It had some rough edges at first that ate into a bucket, now with numerous epoxy coats it's well rounded and almost a work of art.

With all the answers I've gotten I'm ready to go. Not as worried as I was before either.

Now....If it would just warm up for awhile.


There has been a domino affect from putting off doing the floor. I havent built and cabinets or workbenches because I didn't want to clear everything out to do the floor. So all my stuff is haphazzardly stacked on the storage side of the shed.
Smooth sailing once the floor is done.
