Wood Stove Blower Issue

I have a wood stove with a blower that doesn't work. I've traced it back, and one wire to the motor has power, the other is blackened and has no power, but that wire is straight off the power cord. I've checked out the power cord and don't see any obvious damage. Any ideas?

It came with the house, it worked when I was looking at the house but not after I moved in. It's a Napolean 1402 wood stove insert. I'm starting to think power cord, nothing else makes sense to me.

My first blower motor only lasted 4 months. The second motor is on its third season. Mine has a fold down door to get to the ash pan etc. Keeping that door closed was blocking to much air flow. I leave it open all the time now and vacuum around the blower area 2-3 times a season.

The motor spins freely. It does have the thermo "snap" switch, but I jumped that as a test but still nothing. I have a feeling that it's the power cord, since there is no power on one wire to the motor and that wire is straight off the power cord. I'll try a new cord tonight.

One wire should not have power because it is the nutral. The wire going to (thru) the snap disk should be hot. If the snap disk failed its very likely that heat from the stove cooked the blower motor. Most heaters with integal blowers warn that during a power outage the covers should be removed and the fire either put out or damped down as low as possible.

I tried 120v straight to the motor and nothing. Strange, because that would mean that both motors were burnt out. Oh well, time to spend some money...
