Its a bit high, especialy with the current economy. I paid $1300 for mine, with the stainless top, but that was a very amazing deal.

I think around $3500 is more like ebay value, but ebay is hard to use as a gauge sometimes with something this large. If 2 bidders within driving distance want it, it will go for more.

I'd use ebay ended sales as a bargaining tool though.

Good luck finding something that new in good shape (if it is) that cheap again.

My 2 bay is setup the same way as the first 2 bays on that box, so it's probably the 30" deep and really tall model. The extended length second drawer is great to have like that one has. So while I think the riser isn't really needed it's a great box. Bargain though, and cash in hand is a great tool to do that with if you can. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy gets insulted by anything less than $4500.

With the economy, more and more of these big boxes are going to come up for sale, from young mechanics who bought more box than they could afford.

I would pass on this one.

Mine isnt in new condition, but its solid, no damage, with only average wear from several years of respectful use, has the stainless top, and I paid $1300. Thats a huge difference from $5500. I dont think you or I will come across one for $1300 again very easily, but there is a middle ground.

If it's one of those you NEED it you then get it if you can. A double bay will do most people fine without a riser and there is a larger supply of those in better shape that are great deals. Though that would be something that's tempting if it could do it.

Although I have a new box, I still search Craigslist in KS, CO, NE, MO & OK in hopes of finding my old box. Pipedream I know

Chad, Not 72". It's an older box, (about 12yrs or so.) I got it from a retiring mechanic & my phone does funny things to the objects I photograph
