What can you do to a combination square that it needs to be reconditioned, and what can you do to "recondition" it?

Its a subtle way of saying "used". People actually buy tools for a project, use them once and return them with a BS story. Since it was not warranty swap, they just put the "recondition" label on them and sell at a discount.

I always go my Sears clearance section and it is full of obviously used and returned tools. Most times though, they are only discounted down to what a normal sale price for a new once is.
