A Casual Atomic Lab Tour

Over on The Jalopy Journal, fellas have been posting shop tours to show off their hot rods and what not while being quarantined. I figured I would follow suit and made a quick and dirty video this morning.

Excuse the mess… I have all sorts of projects going on at the moment. Rather than cleaning it all up to make it more presentable, I kept it casual so that folks can see what’s actually like here day-to-day. Messy and scatter-brained.

Quick note... This was shot in 4k, but it looks as though YouTube is throttling quality at the moment. Probably a **** load of streaming going on at the moment... In any case, sorry for the quality.

Looks great, thanks for not cleaning it up so I can feel good about my messes as I am always in progress with 5 projects.
Also one thing you did I wish more would do is give the building dimensions. What is the height of yours btw?
I have been shopping 40x40 buildings and seeing how you have your cars in your 32x42 made me feel more comfortable with my plans.

Thanks again for taking the time.

The office has 11' stem walls and is about 15' high at the peak. The shop has 14' stem walls and is about 28' at the peak.

When I watched the last video you posted I found myself wandering around the background taking in some of the bits and pieces I saw. Nice to see it all in one sitting.

It's as cool and unique as I expected it to be. Major jealousy going on.

PS the 38 looks incomplete... its always been one of my favorite hot rods since I saw it on my early days on the HAMB... I hope you get her back together soon.

Nice organized shop Ryan. You have a rather large shop that seems to be well equipped.

I'm not familiar with that foreign material called "wood" though.:lol_hitti

Thanks for doing this Ryan. I don't know about you and the rest of the guys and gals here, but as I've been spending the last week and a half working alone in my shop and with no one stopping by, I sometimes feel like I'm the only one doing it. This helps keeping things in perspective.

Awesome tour. Always cool to see how someone else “lives” and to some extent “thinks”.

Are we making a “corona virus shop tour thread” here on GJ or ?

Ryan:

We're all honored for your sharing a peek into your Atomic Lab.

Thank you for making the video for us, and for letting us all know that even our garage guru has "a random gathering of ****!"

Beautiful space, cars, tools. I love how Ryan says of a few areas: "this corner's disorganized, not sure what I am going to it yet, etc.", but every single area of it is 5x cleaner and more organized than my shop, basement, shed, etc.. :)

Nice place !
You did mention about the fire and I saw the flammable rag container !
I remember there being a rush on those containers on this site just after your fire. :)
Most likely reduced a significant amount of future fires around the country.

I think you have 2X the sq. footage I have & more than 2X the height. My entire space is a random pile of **** at the moment. Thx for sharing.
