Buying a gift for the garage guy or gal who already has everything can be frustrating.
Sure another toolbox would work and I suppose there’s always a need for more wax and polish, right? But come on, it’s time to get creative!
That’s why I love the internet. A little searching and digging around and suddenly you stumble upon the most perfect gift ever. One day I went to ebay and typed in our last name, ‘Cochran’, just to see what would come up. Among the dozens of peculiar and often unrelated items, I found this speednut wrench. I couldn’t believe it. I’d never heard of or seen any Cochran tools before. I promptly snatched it up and continued to search for more of them.
My search proved futile but at least I had my Cochran speed wrench. Imagine Ryan’s surprise when he opened THAT on Christmas morning! Needless to say, he too began an intense search for more information on the Cochran tools. We actually ended up finding out very little about the brand other than the fact that it is over a 100 years old and never seemed to receive its patent. (There is a ‘patent pending’ mark on each tool.)
A couple of months later we found a Cochran pipe wrench to add to our collection. And one sunny afternoon a set of Cochran screwdrivers came up, but the day turned dark when we lost them to a higher bidder. No doubt another Cochran, the *******.
