Thanks for sharing these tests. I like to read about this cheap HF stuff, positve or negative..
Stay tuned, I'm working on a 3/8 ratchet shootout. The contenders are a Snap-On, Mac, Craftsman Pro, Kobalt, Gearwrench, Craftsman and Two HF ratchets. The goal is 200ft lbs.

I didn't see the link for the $2.97, but still a good deal. I bought two, gave one to my bud.

Do you feel special?

I got the first set and was so Impressed for 2.97 I went back and bought the last 11 sets they have. I buy stuff like this throughout the year and give them out at Christmas (9 sons and 2 Son-in laws) along with a box of other stuff for them. With 11 children,Their spouse, 33 grand children and another on the way Christmas can be a tough time. All of my sons and sons-in law love tools so they are glad to get them. With careful shopping throughout the year I can get it down to about 50 dollars per man. I give them all the choice of the money or the tools the day after Christmas for the next year. they all choose the tools because I try out everything before I put it into their stocking. They know what a careful shopper I am. Yeah it makes me feel special to see grown men eyes light up at Christams. They are like a bunch of ten year olds waiting to see whats inside. Even my two sons who are auto techs.

Got a few sets. Used them to take off the transmission/transfer case crossmember on my Jeep. Had to pull as hard as I could on a 1/2" ratchet on a couple bolts. Sockets worked great, and still look great. I'd put them up against any other brand. Really good fit and finish on these.

Damn I didn't print off the page before they changed the price. Anyone save a screen cap?
I think I still have the print out. I'll get a photo and post it. Do you like the one in Florence or the one in Dillon better. The manager in Dillon cuts me a few breaks because I had a business. Normally 10% off of anything and everything I buy.

I used to go to the Dillon store quite a bit when it was the closest one but now since we have one here in Florence I just go to it. The big side walk sales at the Dillon store are great because they sell allot of mail order only items that have been returned. The Dillon store and warehouse is the largest HF facility in the US. I go in HF enough and have made friends with the manager that I automatically get 20% off whatever I buy without having to have a coupon or asking. I buy a bunch of broken HF stuff at the flea market all the time and flat out tell him I bought it broken at the flea market and he just goes and gets me brand new stuff. He said it makes no difference to him where I got it. I bought 1/2" corded impact that was broken almost in two for $2 last week and got a brand new one yesterday.

That HF in Dillon is massive. The retail store always looks dirty but with the traffic that store has it's amazing it's not two feet deep in Mud. I like hitting that one. You have to be careful driving up to the store on the road that winds around. If you drive into one of the potholes along the side of the road it would be a year before anyone found you, lol

Now that I'm retired I wouldn't mind having a part time job at HF just to
have something to do. I'd be OK with 8 dollars per hour. It would make a decent supplement to my retirement

These are marked $11.97, but ringing up $4.97 in store. They knocked it down to $2.97 with the Google cache printout.

My wife once worked in a knitware company back 20+ years ago. She had to hit production level just to make minimum wage. If you want a perfect example of slave labor in the US just ask any waitress or server. Some places servers make excellant money but as more and more of these all you can eat self serve restaurants where the servers don't get tip well because people serve themselves but the business is still able to get buy paying the person a few dollars and hour.

. There is a lot of slave labor going on in the US that doesn't hit the news like that overseas.
