First this is not a Snap-On bashing thread. Love the stuff but just makes me think. See the humor please
I was thinking about buying a new truck recently and the truck I priced was a 2010 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew with 4 full size doors,Leather, Alloy wheels, 5.4 engine, automatic, 4X2 and towing package all wrapped up in white paint. Out the door I got a price of 32,874. Still thinking that one over because I'm not sure I want to go into debt at this stage of my life and my Old 2003 F150 lariat is still putting it down with no payments. Then the thought hit me.
F150 Supercrew $32,874 Curb weight 6019 lbs 231 inches long
Snap On KRL 1065 Roll Cab and two KRL1232 Top Chest to cover the massive bottom. $35,285
145 inches long and Total weight is 2995lbs.
The Snap-On Box has 40 year old technology, No electronics, no brakes (wheel locks don't count) no engine, transmission, differential, radio, seats, air bags, etc. nothing but sheet metal bent to shape with some roller slides and casters and some locks.
If Snap-On Built trucks what would they cost? Funny but interesting thought and makes me wonder why tool boxes are so high.
