Got a similar torque wrench, in 1/4" drive.

Don't know about anyone else, but it drives me nuts how loosely it fits into its storage box. You'd think, for the price, they could have done better. When traveling, I took an appropriately sized socket and wedged it between between the end of the handle and the box.

Mostly great stuff. I'd think twice about any air tool that's not USA made though. I know the Snap-on versions of the angle die grinders and air ratchets are VERY costly, but they are awesome tools. Pretty much any BP air tool is made in Japan or China. As for me, I'd rather buy used Snap-on, than new Blue Point.

What are you going to do when you get out of school? I notice a lot of standard sockets but nothing bigger than 3/8 drive.

Gotta agree here. Blue Point air tools are rebadged asian. Be careful or you might be overpaying even with the discount. And like Skyline said the SO air tools are in a whole different league.

That's what I was wondering too. Wouldn't expect a new automotive tech to be loading up on SAE.

well i really dont use air rachets too much, most of the time i use the 3/8 impact, if the blue point go south ill look into a snappy one, and we will just see how the die grinder holds up. As for the SAE sockets, your only seeing them becuase the metric came in the last shipment. I have plenty of metric and will be buying even more becuase my new job that I start in a few weeks is at a local foreign car shop. They work mostly on european cars so my metric should see plenty of use....hell part of my job interview took place in a porsche 911 on a test drive lol....Here is the link to my last shipment of goodies. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67380
For all those singing the praises of snappy air tools, you will see that they dont fall on deaf ears lol....

Sweet. That sounds like it'll be a good job. I wish could get in more work on European cars the shop I work at does whatever comes in but it is usually is American or everything not euro.

I have almost no SAE sockets barely a set of 3/8 drive. Other then using a few 9/16" here and there it's all metric anymore.

i use normal metal pliers for that (the curved end ones made for hose removal

just take a jumper lead (or a piece of wire with two alligator clips)
and ground the pliers

presto you can pull any plug wire you want with no :shocking:

1/4 inch consists of all craftsman, gonna order a cpl snappy 1/4 rachets soon too. On the half inch side I have once again craftsman sockets and ratchets in chrome and then I have a set of metric and standard snapon impact sockets. I'm not looking to buy any snap on chrome 1/2 sockets because I have the impact sockets and don't plan to use a 1/2 ratchet too often. I'm going to pick up some large metric sockets for axle nuts and such this week I was thinking of going with some cheap harbor freight impacts for that for now. I can replace them with higher quality later as money allows.
When I get home tonight I'll take some pics of my tool box contents, maybe get some advice on what else to pick up soon.

Well I took some pics of the tool box contents. I'll post sorry bout the pic quality this is all from my iPhone. There are plenty of bare spots to fill in my box. I have a $400 gift card to use on the snap on truck, and I plan to buy stuff with my discount online till it runs out. So if you see anything missing that I should pick up soon let me know. I'm gonna make an order on fri. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Yeah I was thinking some stubby ratchet wrenches. And I have a 3/8 snap on tq wrench in that one red box. 20-100ft lbs. But I do want to shortly pick up a good 1/2 tq wrench and a 1/4 inlb tq wrench

Now time to splurge on a few ratchets! Also depending on what you are working on hex, torx sockets.

Yeah I can get the matco equivalent of those for $32 brand new. That's why I planned to pick them up instead of the snappy ones

haha..ya...im out of room actually....i was thinking a harbor frieght roll cab. or a montezuma. snap on's are nice..but not nice enough for me to pay 30 bucks a week for a while haha.

if you get the matco or snap on discount you can pic up a brand new box for what people pay for a good used one. My classic 78 was less then half the MSRP including tax SHIPPED TO MY DOOR! Im telling you man, everyone on this site needs to go enroll in school

I think the line wrenches I saw there looked like raised panel Craftsman. You should replace those with Snappy. And get both SAE and Metric sets...you'll need both.

If you can swing it, a 3/8" cordless impact is unbelievably useful. Once you have one you will find your air impact only gets used when it's absolutely needed. Your collection looks great, keep adding to it as you have money. Good Luck!!!

Impact Driver (The type for stuck screws)

You may not use it often, but you'll be glad you had one when you do! Reminds me, I need to get one.

From what I've read, the HF one is a FAIL. The bits are weak. SO makes a real nice one of those, but it's pricey. I am about to make a thread for one.
