If you buy a craftsman professional socket set are those the same sockets you get in the regular garden variety sets? The ratchet is different but are the sockets?

even the professional ratchets are nothing special, different handles, but same internals as the raised panels.

This statement is false!!! The raised panel ratchets have 36 teeth while the professionals have 60 the swing arc is about half. Craftsman only makes one series of sockets. There are no "professional" series sockets

Ok, which ratchets are we talking about here? As far as I know Craftsman doesn't label any of their ratchets as their Professional line (I believe the thin profiles deserve it though). Their "Professional" tools sets come with 4 different types of their ratchets and as far as I know, the only one that is 60 are the thin profiles.

they so sell both the easy to read sockets and the non easy to read ones. I don't know if theres a difference between those or not but i dont like the looks of the easy to read ones, and i'm glad i got my 302 pc. set without em.

The "Next Generation" ratchets are not the professional ratchets.

Those are called "thin profile" not professional. Indy pointed out the "pro" ratchets in the link.
