Yep! I am glad that chapter is finally over!
I had receipts for 36 00 got 40 00 so I am totally good with that. It was over a 2 yr period so now nice to have $$ in bank. Kinda like adding a few bucks to bank each week that I could not spend! April 1st will be the big day of year if truck sells but at least now a bit of cushion, little less stress where will next $ come from.
Making good progress on the Orange truck (slow but good) Revising a bunch of stuff prepping for sale. If it does not meet reserve at least it will be closer to where I want it to be. Revamping the pulley setup on the AC/PS as lots of room with the AC comp out along with other tubes hoses. Looks packed under hood but amazing how much more room in even a hours time.
Once this truck is done will concentrate (if that's possible) on getting Rainbow ranger painted and back together which is probably a full 6 months of work if no side tracks.
If orange truck sells April 1 then I will decide what to do with the Big N Crew Cab but plan on selling at least 2-3 more trucks. Thin the heard a bit more.

Absolutely, but the item belongs to someone else.
I know someone that spent a bunch of time and money on maintaining a house and keeping it up, was in a teardown neighborhood.
People that bought it said that they wouldn't tear it down and intended to live there.
Guess what happened.
A ghastly monstrosity was erected in its place. All of the trees were cut down too.

That has become "recommended practice." Realtors often advise buyers to write a "heartfelt" letter to the seller in order to win the bid.
We recently went thru this with selling our place of 30 years in Cali. We received one letter from a professor at UCR that made both my wife and I sick to our stomachs (no, the wife isn't sentimental either) Ya scratch that sucker off the list what a MAJOR turnoff.
The couple that bought the place had all kinds of major ideas. They kept apologizing for bringing up stuff while I got them familiarized with the property and allllllll the infrastructure I installed thru the years. I told them on more then a couple occasions, there's nothing you can do to this place that will break my heart. We had our life, we raised our kids here and now we're off to a new chapter in our lives.......knock yourself out and please send pictures.

Truck back on road. Updated version of AC compressor installed. Vacuumed system down over night still holding this morning. 30 oz 134 it’s blowing 40 deg.

Finally got curb weight on truck.

Been trying to make progress on truck prepping it for auction. Now worried wont make it but still trying. I have had the shift interlock and Park indicator switch just hanging over a dash knob.
It’s also part of being able to remove key. Up until now i would turn shift to park turn engine off then push n hold park indicator switch then turn key off same time. If not use the gear indicator would stay on slowly draining battery.
Many attempts trying to get it all to work. Hoping this one will do trick. Too tired for long explanation now.
I also had to build a ignition lock that would match original key. Another interesting trial and error job.

On another note FoMoCo called in my RaptorR order. Now have VIN and tentative build week of April 10th!
Excited if it works out in perfect timing but only if truck sells first..

I did find out during listing any claims made you have to prove it!
Things like how long owned. I know i bought it 23 yrs ago feb first but since i never drove it did not transfer title until 3 yrs later. Title showed 20 yrs so that is number they used!
Same with HP/TQ numbers had to show dyno sheet. Engine being a crate engine i had to prove it! Probably a good thing!
Barely a week left to get it ready. Not sure where all those months went.
Still have not sanded n buffed most areas in truck. I had to pull steering column. That in itself a major job to put back together.

The time has come! Truck delivered to auction site around 4pm today. Handing the keys over and watching it drive away had my knees knocking. Ton of all the little things now done I had not found time to do in the past. So nice of drive over I would not mind driving it back home if a no sale. Will really change plans but either way will be fine with me although leaning more towards hope it sells. That's a LOT of $$
Looks like it may make TV time on Saturday. Glad I brought it over today as they said it was real quiet. At this point looks like 1500 vehicles listed so far. Can't believe how HUGE that arena and surrounding area is. Lots of walking for sure.
I am in Tent #9 with the Catalog Cars. Bigger $$ stuff. I will insist I get to drive it through.

Best of luck randy, I hope she goes high. There was a gorgeous 56 Chevy getting trailered that way early this morning. It already had the mecum paper plate on it. Do there make you strip the plate off once it’s delivered?

They just put the mecum plate over vehicle plate front and back. Just thought of that the mecum plate is blocking hole to intercooler.
Posting pics in a bit. Ended up being yet another major rush job as the foam in drivers bucket gave up the ghost and caused a hole in the seat cover. Spent a couple more k$ on truck last couple months. For sure a few notches past any prior showings. Tricky part was the Park indicator so I did not have to manual push it each time to get key to go off.

I basically have no driving videos of truck other than in my driveway.
I am pretty much stuck on my reserve tho. So no negotiations if it does not meet that.

A week ago the steering column was out. 2 days ago the seat was out and all apart. I had to replace upholstery as foam failed.
Took weeks to figure out how to get the computer to read in PARK using stock ‘66 shifter. It also had solenoid for locking shift. I disabled that as if not operated correctly one could break it.
Few things i would like to have done but overall really dialed in now.

It was a lot of effort no doubt. It for sure is a dream vehicle for me but I figured it's now or never to get decent $$ for it. Such questionable economy and my reserve is well well above what any other 1961-66 truck has brought at auction as far as I know. It is a fair amount over what we owe on house.
If it does not sell I will be quite happy to be able to drive it home and possibly do that lower 48 state trip I have dreamed about for so long. I have nothing else ready. Eco1 was supposed to be the truck as was Eco2. If F100R does sell it will open so many other doors for me. Very tough decision no doubt. Around 3 1/2 months left to full retirement age. Wish it could have been Rainbow Ranger to sell or maybe even Eco2 and not this truck. Like all my projects they stay around until that done or near done point even though this one has taken over 23 yrs
