I did armorpoxy 5 years ago and love it. It's been very durable. 3 coat system ,each coat being 2 part epoxy. 1000 times better than HD rustoleum epoxyshield, but does cost a lot more and took me 3 days to apply it. Spent about 4 hours each day for a 28x32 garage.

Price is definitely a consideration here as well the ballistix kit for a 1500 sq ft garage is almost 2k, full epoxy kits werent much more. I dont need color or anything on floor just want really strong stain resistance to all the chemicals I use. Also do a smaller amount of welding and grinding so I want to be able to make sure sparks wont damage whatever coating I put on there. Most sealers and coatings seem unaffected by sparks and slag and such, but I dont want my POS Mini cooper making my new floor look like a Jiffy Lube parking lot.
Pulled off siding on front of salon/garage in preparation for wire lath and stone to be applied today. Left for 30 minutes this morning to get some flashing and Zip tape and apparently while I was gone the mason came by, didnt like my current progress with removing the siding and left without doing anything. Siding had all been previously removed for installing a window last year, and only had sporadic drywall screws holding it on. With siding out of the way I moved on to getting the lights off the front of the garage and making sure I had all the supplies needed ready.
This afternoon I came out to salon to see my 10 year old installing outlet covers for my wife. Glad to see him advancing beyond legos! A few years ago I turned him loose with a 3/8 electric impact and a set of sockets and he disassembled a jeep 3.8 engine for me while I prepped the new engine to receive all the parts he was removing. Kid does great with instruction and has quite a mechanocal mind.

I did ballistix on my floor here are some pictures, heat proof, mildew resistance easy to clean. As im still building in my garage I see it will scratch from small rocks on wheels, or boots but i can easily sand it from cut line to cut line and redo it. I have dropped stain on it wipes rite up oil sat on it for 2 weeks wiped rite up. Down fall slippery as hell when wet, I ordered the 220 grit but didn’t install it oh well. Get mats as you walk in. Also make sure you add it heavy at first i was skimpy and texture is not so consistent but i went heavy at the end looks great.
No grinding the concrete crew did amazing work as in power troul to smooth finish. But first i swept it then mopped it. then let i dry for a day then use the burgundy sanding pad that pad will come in your kit along with isopropyl alcohol get the dirt up the mop couldn’t. Then apply coating took 2 days for entire process shop is 42x96.
I took the pressure washer and surface cleaner to the slab on Saturday and cleaned a lot of the dust and such especially out of the saw cuts. Squeegeed off the water and slab looks dirty still. I think the scuff pad will get the concrete lookong nice and whatever sealer I end up with hopefully it will really shine thru like yours.
So garage starts on Monday and time is ticking down. Starting to get really excited for whats coming. 2 lifgtmaster 8500s on the way, stone work completed on wifes attached garage, hung her new outside lights this morning after I got home from work. They have an uploght in them and a down light so I think it will cast a nice light on the stone. Also had the masons build a block mailbox and give it the stone treatment. Need to grab a piece of flagstone to cap it off in the morning after work. With all these things coming together, I have to solidify my plans for flooring, lighting and electrical and I am still torn on the floor coating as of right now. At this point I am going to wait until the building is installed before messing with the floors. I have done a couple of rough sketch ups of storage ideas and item placement but need to nail that down too so I can better design electrical plan.

Thank you! We never considered doing more when we built the house initially but it really adds some nice contrast. Wife loves it so thats all that matters I guess.
So we have about 500 sq ft above the garage that was my former reloading room and general junk storage. Have been working on it on nights I havent had to work. I have been installing LVP up there with hopes of getting it done in the next day or so. Need to runs some base and paint and that space will be done as well. Trying to figure out a way to hide the lineset from the minisplit possibly a box to cover lines and paint to match?

Building is going up on Monday, after boat show today I plan to grab a concrete polisher and go ahead and get my slab to where I am happy with it while its all clear and I can see. My shop wont have lights or power in it until everything is complete so I feel like prepping the floor now gives me a better chance of not missing anything. The concrete has a milky looking haze all over it that I want to get rid of. Pressure washing with my surface cleaner didnt seem to help it or remove it. Did work great for cleaning off all the dust/mud that accumulated from cutting the slab.
Installers stopped by earlier with my entire garage on a 30ft trailer. They took a few measurements and then asked that I provide a forklift with boom and a 20 ft step ladder because of the block stem wall height that the building will be on top of. Not really happy to find this out on such short notice. Hoping I can rent a telescopice forklift to get this **** done tomorrow.
8 calls to 8 rental companies and 2 trips later along with having to find insurance I have found a telehandler and have it on the way! Could not believe how hard it was to track one down! Should be delivered this afternoon and get these guys working! They came out this morning and set all my base rails and built the rear gable so it is awaiting the telehandler to put it in place. After 11 months this is it, finally coming together! 
Telehandler finally showed up and they got right to work! Guys got a pretty good bit of work done today. Main frames are all up and the purlins are all on. Tomorrow should be insulation windows and then sheet metal. So pumped to get this thing together.

Looks awesome! Im surprised the building contractor doesn't have the tools and contingency in place for building something not on level grade, making it your problem to solve in the last second.

I also had to rent a 16 ft ladder at their request. So far they have not touched it. I had some pallets there from the stone project so they have used one as a work platform on the telehandler so far.
As far as changing the air handler, I am so far over budget that I dont even want to consider a change like that. I think I can build a low profile box to cover lines and something behind the unit to make it look a bit more sleek. I am so impressed with these units so quiet, puts out great on both heat and cool settings. Finished the flooring upstairs so a quick paint job and some baseboard and I can mark another one off the list.

Waiting on the crew to come out this morning and finish windows and install man door. Im on my own gor the garage door install and finishing the front. Started this morning with cutting up some osb to enclose front of garage, which will be followed by tyvek wrap and hopefully I can do the framing for the garage doors today. Would love to get doors in tomorrow so I can have a somewhat secured space. Still up in the air about what to do for floor, but hopefully I can come to a concensus soon. Had to change placement of the rear windows but luckily no holes have been cut yet. 
With projects inside the house and cleanup for some guests coming to stay with us next week, progress on the garage was slow yesterday. The installers finished up the windows and installed man door and took my money and ran. I had cut my osb for the front of the building and then realized I cant hold a 4x8 sheet 16 ft up in the air and though I tried I could not get it attached to the frame. So I had to get a helper

Got OSB hung and house wrapped, and decided to start on doors and see how far I could get before I had to go to work last night. Had a good lil helper working with me doing all the hard work got 5/6 sections up just need to get the glass section in up top, but it requires getting the top rail installed first. 
I also locked my keys and my spare key in my truck and the truck is parked in the space where the garage door needs to go so I have to go get a lockout kit from my old shop to get the truck moved. Its little things like this that keep me from getting things done quickly and efficiently.

No work completed today spent day working on all kinds of honey dos for the wife. I did get the angle to hang my horizontal rails so I hope to try and get that done tomorrow when wake up. These night shifts are really cramping my ability to get things done. Only bad news for today was I found out a 10 ft door still isnt tall enough for my boat to get into garage without lowering tower.

So not every update is a good one. I installed one door and then found the supplement paper that tells how the sections are to be stacked for odd size doors. Mine has 21 inch and 18 in sections and I apparently have to remove a 21 in section and place it below the 18s. Then the glass is a 21 and it goes on top. Well at 10 last noght in total darkness I decided I would go outside and swap the sections. Slid the glass section up onto the horizontal rails and removed the 21 in section below it. That went well, and heres where it went bad. What I should have done would be to raise the 2 18 in panels up, clamp them in place in the tracks and install the 21 in panel, then secure them all together and drop the glass top panel back down. Instead I tried to lower the glass panel down to the 18in panels and it fell to the ground. Nothing broke, but the cursing and feeling of idiocy was huge. No phone or way to get any help out there so I had to leave it hanging and go inside to get my wife to help me get it down. What a mess. Gonna try and get it up there today with some help.

Not to worry, i recently destroyed an entire older 16ft wide roll up door by bashing the hell out of a panel i was precariously holding, which was blown out of my hands by a gust of wind.
It was an older aluminum door so it was irreparably dented up, making the whole rest of the door unusable as well since that part can not be replaced.
I found other ways to use it, but it would have been nice not to have that decision forced by a mistake

I have one door working! Spent some time tinkering with it and adjusting it andnI have the door for the boat/bwifes parking working smoothly and dead quiet. The liftmaster 8500 openers are sweet. Power locks, no noise, and after a mere 70 dollars, I have a gateway module in house so I can use my app to open garage doors. The door for my side is not going as well. As it goes up it rides to the right and can get hing at the top of its travel. I have checked my rails with my laser and the are dead nuts straight vertical and horizontal. I undid the torsion springs and releveled my door and retensioned springs. Some how the cables got all jacked up it this process and I had to undo them from door one at a time as they somehow bound up. Now the door wont close all the way. Got to a point of max irritation so I stopped and let it go for the night. Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully I have a plan when I wake up.

Always best to step away when you get frustrated. Took me a long time and many thrown tools before I realized that things all look better the next day. You’ll finger it out!
Got back at it @ 0630 and got it handled! Last night the cables got bound up into a rats nest somehow, so I had clamped door in place fixed cables and added one extra wrap to each side when I reinstalled the cables. That was one wrap too much and held the door from closing. This morning I reclamped the torsion bar, redid the cables and got the door situated and after that its worked perfectly. Nice to have working doors. Next up is to get the siding on the front.

Looking thru the extra metal left by the garage installers and there are 2 90 degree sections I found that are long enough to use as a flashing for the tops of my garage doors. Going to install them tomorrow before work and then I can get my starter strip on so I can start my siding. Will have to find someone who can bend up a few more strips for me, but glad I have enough to get the siding going. Tired of looking at the house wrap!
Finished the siding today, started cleaning the floors in anticipation of getting some kind ofnsealer on them. Not making a ton of progress and my legs are wornout from the thousands of trips up and down the ladder,move it 4 ft and repeat 100 times. But it looks good for my first time doing siding.

Thank you! Its getting there. Cleaning shop floors and prepping for sealer today. Next up is getting stone guys out to finish the columns around doors.
Finally pulled the trigger on my floors and gotthem finished this afternoon. Stopped by to see a buddy and told him about how I was stressing over what floor system and he told me his opinion which was I am building a working shop, not a display case. I do woodworking and lots of wrenching, his sugfestion was get whatever I can fix the easiest when I inevitably screw it up. I said lets do it and grabbed eagle seal from home depot. I had watched a bunch of youtube videos on it, and figured it was worth a shot. Used about 7 gallons to do 2 coats, sprayed it on and mopped it in. Floor is glossy and dry now enough to walk on and put some lightweight items in garage. Should be able to back boat in tomorrow and get the rest of my stuff out of storage later this week. I have a waterpump to replace on a denali later this week so having my tools in the garage will make life much easier for me.

Looks good. It’s good to remember it’s a garage sometimes!
Moved some stuff in this morning to get it out of the driveway , man is this stuff strong. I could smell it when I walked out my front door this morning, andthats at least 100 ft from the garage. Have doors and windows open and fans going now hoping to get it airedout a bit. Now the floor is done its time to get the breezeway done and get electrical in so I can move on to my project list! Boat needs LOF, trans and v drive oil changes, I have a heater to install in it as well as bigger ballast bags. Denali project waterpump this week and then the first real project for the garage which Im gonna hold on to until I can get some pics in here of it. Needless to say I am pumped for this one!

Where are you located? It looks beautiful
Im in East TN just outside of Knoxville. I love it here, close to the mtns, 15 minutes from 3 different lakes, and just an all around outdoor paradise to me. Tonight has been busy moving out of my pod into the shop. Used the extra scrap cuts of osb to make a track to get from my gravel area to driveway with my tool cart and bottom box. That went ok by myself. Had a buddy swing by and help me get the top box, my lift and my generator welder out of the pod. Those were a bit trickier since the scissor lift is so heavy but we got it handled and into the shop. I have to go thru everything and do some serious organizing and purging. I have stuff piled along the edgesto get it out of the way, and this is just a small portion of my tools and stuff. I still have a 10x10 unit full of stuff to get tomorrow morning before the real work can begin.

all my junk starting to find places in the shop. Right side is for lift and wrenching left side is my boat and wifes parking area. My truck will go in there as well as the mini. The new project thats comin is gonna slide in the middle for now
