What glue do you use for electrical coil windings?

I have an electrical coil in a transformer that has a small section of the copper exposed from having been struck resulting in the coating being removed.

What should I apply to the coil? I would like to cover the exposed secrion of copper wire in the coil.

when originally made I think it is called insulating varnish .

Glyptal was used for insulating windings. You can buy cans of red or green electrical varnish too.

Yes, but it's not the typical big box store wood varnish (You probably know that but others here might not). Heard about someone who took some winding varnish home from one of our factories and used it on a wood project. It never cured as expected as winding varnish is usually heat cured.
