Sockets for 206AFSP General Service Set

Hey everyone.

I just picked up this handle set for an awesome £60. I'd like to add a shallow AF and metric sets, creating a grab and go socket set for working out on the driveway (common) or rescuing broken down friends.

Can anyone tell me which sets I need to buy? The Snap-on catalogue states both 211FY and 211FSY as compatable. I like the red tray with the FSY set, rather than the metal clip, but does anyone know if it will fit in my service sets rectagular aperature?

Great set! If you can measure that area I'd be glad to put a ruler to one of the socket sets I have here to see if it would fit on a rail. I have Snap-On metal rails in a bunch of lengths, one ought to work for you!

I have a couple of SAE and a Metric Snap-on set that would work for you if you wanted to go with used Snap-on socket sets. Check out my sale link below for items #12, 13 & 14.

Thanks! The space, at its narrowest, is 275 by 135mm.

Okay, here's a pic of 3/8" drive SAE. They're deep well but that shouldn't affect your needs. Sorry it's Imperial, I don't have a metric rule handy (but the rule was made in England by Chesterman Sheffield!).

The whole set from 1/4 to 7/8 measures 9 1/4"; to 3/8 like the sets you quote it's about 7 3/4".

These measurements are with the sockets fairly tight and no allowance for space at the end of the rail.

I have Snap-on metal rails which are 7 3/8" and 10 3/8" long, with of course just a bit less than that usable. If my math is right either would fit in the 10.82" space there.

Thanks heelsroll! I thought the space might be designed by SO to be fitted with their sets, but i guess its a bit bigger to be universal with their other items. Many thanks!

Yes, they should fit into a small US Post Office flat rate box. International shipping is limited to 4 lbs for $13.45. Two sets of short sockets, one SAE the other metric weigh in at 21 oz which is under the 4 lb limit. The sale prices reflected US shipping, so figure an additional $5 for shipping.

Am I right in thinking for either set 13 and 14, plus shipping that comes to $138?

The plastic trays that the sockets now come in will not fit in your blow molded case. The older sets that came on the metal rail w/clips will fit. I have one with a 212sfsmy and 212fsmy in the case. Great set to carry with you.

Sorry for bring an old thread back up. I am now facing the same situation. So is the old style metal rails the way to go?
