Marley electric garage heater contactor issue

Have a Marley UH-524TAC ceiling (or wall) mount heater. Last couple days the contactor has really started making a prolonged racket trying to start.

Anything to be done with this besides replace the contactor unit?

On my drill press I was able to 'clean up' the contactors, but this unit looks to be non serviceable.. all sealed up.

Guess my terminology leaves something to be desired.. its the relay.

Damn thing is 200 bucks.....

I was able to take the relay apart and it looks clean as a whistle.. nothing burnt, corroded etc.

That is nuts, this one should work fine.

The only difference is the one you have is probably a "quiet" contactor. It doesn't snap closed hard. The $23 one will bag when it closes.

Chattering caused by coil power going on and off. First pull the coil wires and put a volt meter on them power it back up see if it voltage is steady. Chatting contractor will burn up the contacts within a couple of minutes.

Hey guys... a cold wind is blowing from the north, so I got back on this issue before the garage got too cold.

Turns out the thermostat was the issue.

Qmark 5813-2050-000 Spst Thermostat​

About 30 bucks on ebay.

yeah if thermostat is not delivering the voltage constantly it will cause the contactor to act up
