Replaced a light bulb in the center console of the C70 and reconnected a wiring harness so that the rear seat power port would work.

A little organizing and pitching, combined three packages of 6013 electrode into two.

Washed the protective outer lens of my welding hood, and ordered a package of replacements; ten, the smallest quantity, will be a lifetime supply

At work…

Today was pretty busy. Lots of general maintenance stuff as the other shops we have got backed up so they sent some our way to help out with which is ok. Except they sent us all the junk lol 😂. Several old Jeeps, Fords a Dodge lol. We had one kid who is pretty new. We sent him home cause he was complaining and also trying to borrow everyone’s stuff that we were using because he only has “Toyota sizes” in his collection so he didn’t have a 13mm or 15mm or 16mm for the Jeeps or Fords. I told him just to go home if he was going to complain and since he didn’t have proper tools to do his job with. He said he should not have to do anything that wasn’t a Toyota, Scion or Lexus. Personally I enjoyed getting something different for a change and I sold tons of stuff so my bonus cash will be nice. Checking cabin filters in both Ford and Jeep are a real pain in the rear though lol. Had a wheel stud snap on one of them so we had to put that on the shop pad. It snapped as I was loosening the wheel not going to make the customer pay for it since they bought tons of stuff already even though we weren’t the last ones to do it. So fun day overall. My first time ever working on a Jeep Commander haha.

Tomorrow lined up have a 18 Corolla with almost 200,000 on it intermittent no crank no start that I have to diagnose.

Finished going through the riding & push mowers. Finished the night in the deep sink washing foam air filters, will throw those in tonight. Sharp blades, clean decks, fresh grease in the zerks. Now just need some dry weather to mow. Grass dry enought to mow is a rare thing here in the PNW.

Cut the running boards off a friend's SUV. Put away some toys I left out. Tested a fresh TPMS module. Fixed a dead mouse. Worked on the shoptop.
My dad once told me he could fix anything. I told him he couldn't fix a dead duck (we had just had a pet duck die).

So, I guess you're doing better than he. :)

I figured out where the lower trim piece needs to be cut (it is “cut to fit”). Haven’t cut it yet.

Started working on getting the new stainless grill in to the opening. It doesn’t want to go in, and I was hesitant to force it. I’ll work on it more tomorrow.

Put the air filters back in the mowers.
Will pick up the radiator and heater core for the F350 project after work. Both are toast. His quote for a new brass/copper radiator was over $650, will be looking into an aluminum replacement.

Never liked how high the running boards were on my truck, lowered them 1 and 1/2". I simply cut the stock brackets and welded in a piece that was an inch and a half in width. I also had to cut and bend some aluminum to cover the exposed brackets.

We have a garden cart that we were getting tired of pushing & pulling it around the property. The previous owners of our house had put concrete planter bed edging around the 3 sides of the planter beds & we want to remove them. They also put rocks up one side of the driveway which not only look terrible but are a pain when I try to cut the grass. I purchased a 3' piece of perforated steel square tube at Lowes & hooked it to the back of our ZTR mower & I removed the handle from the garden cart & hooked the square tube to it. I will try it out this weekend to see how it works.100_2054.JPG

I think you'll find that you need at the very least some slop in the connection between the drawbar and the hitch tongue. The bucking and bouncing of the zeroturn will bend or tear that tongue pretty quick. It would be pretty weak, but even cutting a notch out of the tongue at the end so its a ] shape and the drawbar fits between the two holes will help. drawbar -----] hitch tongue

Today's little project was building the door for the built in garden tool cabinet. Also cut and installed 2 small shelves and installed them inside the cabinet's right corner. Short for time today so have to make a run tomorrow for hinges and more cheap furring wood trim at HD.1681417935941.jpeg

It's not what I did, but what I learned.

When the long winter is over, it's the first really nice week of spring, you take the cover off the Corvette, check the oil, air up the tires, jump in, turn the key, and nothing happens.

Don't forget to put the damn battery back in the car!

Tracked down the batteries I have been waiting for; they have apparently been lost in transit. The vendor will have replacements to me in no more than 4 business days.

Cutting off the bottom and side trim pieces to fit. Installed. Took sever trial fits until I was happy with the fit. They are interlocking, and clip on to the edge of the surrounding shell.

Removed the protective tape from the grill and trims. Doesn’t sound like much, but took over an hour. HF nylon body prybar things for the win here, they really helped peel the tape from between the bars. No way my fingers were going to fit in there.

Some hammering, bending, leverage, and swearing, and the grill is in and screwed down. That took more than I was hoping, but not as much as I expected. It’s a tight fit.

@DGersic, that came out nice. I know nothing ever fits without work but you've made it look perfect. I would have a hard time putting that back on the car, knowing someone is going to give it a love tap the first time I take it out. There are two big chips in my Corvette's front bumper that I want to fix but knowing it will be trashed has allowed me to procrastinate.

I had both bumpers repaired and re-chromed last year. I know what you mean, I’d be pissed if that happened, but they're no fun sitting in the garage. I have trips to take, places to go.

Tenant complaint about a leaking garbage disposal. Found all the screws holding the sink spud were out and two were missing. Purchased a new spud and robbed two from it.

Swapped over the wife's car to her summer tires and while doing it, I found the noise she was complaining about. The wheel bearing on the drivers side is badly worn and needs to be replaced. Also found out that the rear shock boots were gone too. So I've added a bunch more parts to my order for the car to get it back up in good working order...

Also, the wife has been complaining of the smell of gas. Sunday I need to build a charcoal canister for the kit car fuel vent line.

Today at work was a typical Friday….slammed lol. Non stop from 7:30am-4:30pm except our hour lunch break. At least got the last 30 minutes to clean up lol. One car I waited almost 2 hours for oil. Customer wanted Mobil 1 0W-16 but had a certain price range so we had to check at every single parts store. Got it from Auto Zone which was like $3 cheaper than another place. They didn’t specify they wanted Mobil 1 till we got it up in the air and the oil already draining the advisor went over the multipoint with them and said they freaked because we wrote down the Toyota 0W-16. They said has to be Mobil 1 and has to be from a bottle. We stock 5W-20 and 5W-30 Mobil 1 but that’s it’s as the rest of the oil is bulk or we have Toyota bottles for retail sale. If they would have specified beforehand we would have waited to do it till after the oil arrived.

Done that and helped out with more oil changes which is fine. A couple sets of tires. We had give someone a discount because I opened their glovebox to search for a wheel lock key and replace the cabin filter and a bottle of grape Bootlegger fell out and bounced and hit the floor and shattered. That was a weird one to explain to my boss he thought it was pretty funny. It was a Tacoma glovebox so there is no like actual box attached to the lid the lid is separate if you get what I’m saying. Everything was crammed in there I opened it and out that came lol. They got $90 worth of filters free haha. The air filter was $40 and cabin $50 so $90 total they agreed to buy then when that happened my boss is like yeah we will take care of the filters for you. So yeah interesting day there haha.
