While working on my son's dirtbike. Had to replace the "T" connector that attaches radiators it runs through bike frame and has an aluminum tube connected from below, which is also mostly concealed within frame. I tried taking old pipe out with a pipe wrench and tore the bottom of the pipe straight off leaving just about nothing to grab onto. Off the Harbor Freight to pick up a spline extractor set. Worked great and comes in a nice case. Tapped it into bottom of tube, it gripped right away and was able to turn it out with a wrench on extractor.

Now didn't want to damage new tube, which has three splines running length of pipe internally. Found an old Craftsman 10mm socket that looked like a pretty good fit and ground out some slots to fit the splines. Worked perfectly and got new tube installed without any issues.

PITA project but got it done and showed my son a few tricks along the way.

Old tube, new ICON extractor set and modified 10mm socket...

I'll hold onto the socket in case I have to remove this tube again.
