Newbie 2 X 4 Post Against each other

Hi . I’m new here. Building a new garage 20 x 40 with the single door on the 20’ end. I have 215” across the back wall due to a 6’x6’ bathroom & want to intall 2 bend pak hoists hd9xw (110.5”wide) & hd9stx (100.25”wide). I have a 2021 Denali HD & 3 muscle cars. I’m wanting to lift and store all 4 and keep the front area floor bare. My question is, can I put 2 - 4 posts side by side against each other ? If so what are the drawbacks? The hoist instructions say 5” apart due to anchors (which I wouldn’t use) and 6’ from any obstructions (walls etc.).
Are there other brands that have 9000lb narrow widths that ship to western Canada?

I'm still a novice but I have been on a couple of building sites and I have seen 2X4s nailed together to make a 4X4. I've noticed in working by myself that I'm more at risk of getting injured working with 4X4s than with 2X4s.
As far as drawbacks, I would think you would need to protect them from moisture.

Welcome to the forum from the shore of San Diego Bay.

I was confused when I read you post yesterday, I thought you were talking about 2 four post hoists, not laminating two 2X4 pieces of lumber together.

I think you would be well served by adding some plywood in between the 2X4, sort of like the filling in Oreo Cookies. I am partial to Gorilla Glue and Clear Select 2X4's, that should make one very strong post for interior use.
