Today, my mac dealer announced that mac was pulling his franchise, and thusly was going independent. Then, my snappy dealer pulls up in his subaru and tells us his truck was struck by lightning (the tools are ok). All the ecms in his truck are toast. ***** to be a tool dealer in my town. Plus, the damn hardware store burned to the ground last night. Im fearful of whats to follow.

ingersoll rand, grey pneumatic, lsile(spelling?) knipex, gearwrench, makita, whatever else he wants i guess. If SK ever gets out of the pit that they're in , he'll stock them too. He also said he will warranty everything, even if they have no factory warranty. I really like our mac dealer, even if mac tools have taken a dive, so im kinda happy that hes going independent.

My Mac dealer did the same, pull out.It was this or lose his house.Snap On dealer that comes around is not allowed to walk in my father's shop anymore, kicked out 12 years ago for bad service.Never came around until 9:00 at night after buisness hours. Now go to a dealer down the road in my area to replace broken Snap On tools,at his house most weekends.Had a Cornwell dealer come around and he went under a couple years ago.I hand my broken Cornwell tools to my brother Scott whom works at a Harley Davidson dealership which has a Cornwell dealer come around.Have a very dependable Matco dealer come around on Fridays and he warranties anything with no questions asked.

too bad it wasnt a home depot or lowes that burned down.

Well, if it were a HD, you'd be pretty sure that no one would have been injured. At any hour of the day.

I went in one the other day and thought I had walked in on one of those robberies where the thugs move all employees and customers into a back room or something.

If HD gets any more self-serve, we'll need codes to unlock the doors in the morning. Last one out, turn off the lights.

He should buy some HF tool boxes and sell them at 20 dollars a week at about twice the price. I bet it they would sell so fast he couldn't keep them on the truck.

Ill be excited to see what our indie dealer decides to do for boxes. I would say montezuma, but i don't really know.

It is a double not cool on the hardware store because he shared a building with the carpet and flooring guy, and he got totally screwed through no fault of his own. I hope they had good insurance.

your indi guy may want to look into carrying toptul
It seems like Toptul has no support or network. The few tools from toptul taht sell on ebay blow out cheaper than Craftsman. Id like to try some of their stuff but if you can't find someone to sell it you can't buy it.

I have never had any experience with toptul. which isnt to say that I wouldn't want to, i just don't know anyone with any, or know anyone that sells it.

I needed some wiring tonight to finish my lights in the garage and went to Lowe's. There were 14 FOURTEEN checkout aisles and not a single human being at any of them. Not one had the light on. Only the self check-out was open. And no one manning that. Their give-a-**** factor is in the toilet, too. Not just Home Depot.

I always start asking, how do I enter the employee discount, as I am doing their job.

Everyone ought to start doing that. They are forcing us to do their jobs and we aren't receiving ANY discount for it. I absolutely refuse to use the self checkout for that reason. They need to comp. me for doing their job.

One trip last month, I had 6 different associates ask me if I needed help!!!
