What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Just about finished up this little car. Just needs a roof made. I'll hopefully get it sorted in the next week.

It's battery powered using a motor from a golf club trolley. It will pull me along quite happy on the flat, albeit it's a struggle for me to fit in the seat!

No real design influence other than to make something akin to an early 1900's roadster. It was simply made up as I went along finding inspiration where I came across it. The paint I had on the shelf, and the owl mascot was sourced from eBay. The white paint, coupled with the owl, gave birth to the name 'Hoot' which formed the theme the car was ultimately built around.

The 'petrol pump' was an old oil cabinet pump that I fitted a bit conduit and air hose to, and painted in Shell livery. I'm not very good at painting so don't be too harsh with the lettering!

Finished the doors on the 3d printer. Designed a led mount for the printer. Broke down a sheet of 3/4" plywood to build the stand for the printer.

Replaced the drive belt on my ride on. Transmission was slipping under load, and thankfully it was a simple fix.

Thanks, I guess I prefer making them as they are easier to keep.. Also the added benefit of being able to set my own parameters unlike restoring a proper car where you're at the mercy of others opinions and the gruelling task of chasing rust all day..

I should mention the cars do get used by the kids, not just by me..!

Got out early today to wash my avalanche. Damn black paint earns up fast on the sun.

Friday night I was taking apart a carburetor in the garage and this guy flew in. I heard it coming lol. Biggest damn moth I ever saw. About a 6" wingspan. Apparently it's a lunar moth.

Changed the oil in the Taurus - looked for the squeaking noise in the front end but wasn't successful. Will look again when I have more time. I needed to check the rear brakes so a wheel had to come off. Took the opportunity to teach the middle child how to use the supplied jack and lug wrench to change a tire.

Finally finished the wiring on the "off" wall (Door between the TV/electronics and where the left front speaker will go) - Bigger box is in, new cat 5 plug, speaker wires soldered to tabs, tabs attached to speaker wire posts, and all plates mounted - Data is working as I'm typing on it now...

I snagged a small scrap of LVL from my closest neighbor's new house build. I reporpoised it as a bench grinder base on a base cabinet left over from my house build.

Changed the left front strut. Got the boot over the bump stop correctly the first time this time. I haven't torqued the pinch bolt or the strut tower bolts yet, but it was dinner time so I called it.

I noticed the brake cylinder boot was cracked since I took of the caliper to make the job easier, so I ordered a new one. I should order some new caliper bolts too, now that I think of it, since the current ones were so frozen in there.. (Had to do a lot of forward and back with the torque impact wrench to get them to come out.)

Close. I usually use a small Melody Suzie nail grinder for removing the ANC. However, tonight I upgraded to the payment Micro Mark die grinder. Much smoother chuck system. It's actually a real collet on the shaft, instead of a rubber mounted thingy. Much more pleasant experience. Less shock to the nails. Sped things up immensely.

Also, ANC stinks a bit, so I keep it in the shop.

Replaced the belt on my Craftsman lawn edger. We were using it like a sod cutter the other day and the blade stuck in the dirt. Before we stopped it, the pulley burnt through the belt.

Yesterday....Took the 74 FLH 'Shovelhead' Harley down off the motorcycle lift where its been stored for the winter. Started right up (electric starter) gave it a quick look over, then took a short ride around the HOA village.

Came back and put the 74 XLCH 'Ironhead' Harley up on the lift. I need to do some maintenance and adjustments to it before I attempt to kick start it (my right knee has been giving me trouble lately) so I'm in no hurry to start it.

After that, it was out into the yard to cut the grass....the knee is really hurting this morning. (Earlier picture, not from yesterday)

"Fallout Remover" ... sounded like something to clean up after the nuclear apocalypse so I had to look that one up. So can I infer that it works well since you put up with the smell?

Installed the cross bars and kayak mounts on the Pilot. Back seized up good just as I was finishing up. Had the Mrs drive her elbow into the knot and then took the kayak for a quick drive up to town to pay my storage. Kayak seemed to do fine, dang near seized up again just trying to put my seatbelt on. When the kids were at the house for Sunday dinner I had them help unload the kayak. Damned back muscles really screw my weekend work plans.

My wife bought an S-10 last week, and it came with a brand new seat cover for some reason. The seats are perfect; I don't know why the previous owner bought it. Anyway, it was an oversized bucket seat cover. So I decided to see if it would fit my work van's giant conversion captains seat. It did! Awesome! I've been dealing with a gaping hole in the edge of the drivers seat forever (the van sits high, so you have to kinda slide out, and it wore the edge out). No more catching my jeans on the exposed recline mechanism, lol.

I get the most joy out of the cheapest things, lol.

You must have different deer than we have around here. I've never hit a deer with the middle of the front of the truck. It's always been the corners of the vehicle and took out headlights.

yes the stuff works, got the cheaper version made by Simoniz (more expensive one made by Sonax). Grey alloy wheels had turned brown after 6th winter. Wanted to try it out on the wheels first before giving a shot on a white car. When it reacts, it turns surface purple
