250 update:
I tracked it across country and yesterday 4pm it showed up at BNSF auto distribution center 11.6 miles from my dealer. I sent a text to GM to let him know.
I also learned a very interesting tidbit that R #2 I thought was delivered never actually got built! What a mess… Ford *****.

N crew
Stripping things of frame for blasting/painting.
Not a bunch of fun when it’s 100 deg out.
Had to use plasma on a few bolts. So many holes in frame it looks like Swiss cheese

Still need to pull front axle. Move chassis forward 10’ so I can lift box up in front using hoist. Would love to just remove the bed but how do I move it. What do I do with it.

Spoke with F-P re: my RaptorR
Seems like ford has kicked up the R builds and they are now once again getting built starting this week. That production on them has once again started and it "sounds like" My R will go into production the week of June 19th. No set actual build date yet. So fingers crossed it will be built and actually could show at dealer on my "official" Retirement date of July 14th! That would be a cool day to take delivery?

Trying to not get my hopes up too much.

Since the engine has already had a full rebuild I will just do full detail on it. Will separate engine transmission remove bell housing inspect clutch & most likely replace clutch.
With engine on stand will do the Magic Wand treatment which is seal any openings then glass bead engine then apply factory engine blue in base clear. I have replated hardware to install.
If it needs I have NOS water pump, fuel pump already NOS, original carb (Holley) has already been rebuilt. Be a great setup for another truck if not put back in N crew.

Ahhh, now I see what you're doing. That makes sense.

Pretty much ALL my plans hinge on RaptorR at this point. I really expected it to have scheduled build day today. No update since 3/29.
I need to keep 100% of $$ avail for R until I know what’s happening with it. Fomoco seems to not care about customer base. Drifting towards the go woke go broke..

7.3 6R140 is preferred combo in N Crew.
Just happens today copart phoenix has 13 new 2022 Penske type trucks up for auction one with 70 miles on it. Can’t bid tho.

I like the Godzilla engine, but how/why would copart have 13 new 2022 trucks for auction?

Really getting tired (going on 11 months) since R order. I would rather fomoco say today sorry your truck will never get built vs next month then next month and it never happens.

I do have most what is needed to finish up Rainbow Ranger but that too hinges on R.

This way the engine is ready to go back into the N or for use in a different truck. I still have the 391 FT in the '65 F600 that was rebuilt but the heads are too messed up to use. If nothing else the engine just pulled from N crew can be used as a conversation piece for the amount of $ I will have into it. Hardest part is where do I store it in the meantime . Getting a bit hot so re-arrange stuff in the storage sheds.

I just watched the last of the 13 trucks sell on copart. No visible damage but all said damage left side. A edjamacated guess tells me it had to be hail related as although trucks were shipped to PHX were not from here per titles. AND places like Uhaul, Penske etc have such pull they can actually make $$ in letting them go. Claim a big write-off in getting them repaired as they can claim Loss of use and with big timeline in repairs the insurance decided to total them. One could see outline of the Penske decals being removed. New trucks ready for service that had (guess) hail damage.
The largest truck went to 33k all the shorter ones were 27k. I video'd the last one with 70 miles on it that sold for 27k to a California buyer. Copart does a HORRIBLE job of photo documentation I suppose it helps the "seller" get best $$ by not showing what all is wrong. Like anything these days its all a money grab.

I will stick with the 7.3 zilla swap in n crew for now and proceed stripping remaining stuff from chassis then blasting/ painting until I hear outcome on the R.
Hoping to get back on Rainbow to get the cab and doors painted along with rest of front clip.
I have been slowly ordering parts needed to get Rainbow complete. I am getting very very close to having ALL parts needed to complete.
I just need a touch of energy. At this point would love to hire someone full time for a month to help get it on its way to completion.

I know once I get rolling on it without the sidetracks I will be ok. Simply too much to do around here to get anything done.

Getting paint on bottom side of N cab really helped but need to keep things rollin'

On your lack of progress with the Raptor R. One of the doctors at my gym ordered one last fall and bought a bronco to hold him over until it showed up. I noticed today he had a new F150 but it is a tremor and not his Raptor so your not the only one waiting forever.

Well, as down as i was on RaptorR
yesterday talked with F-P in order then later on ford chat the lady at end said is there anything i can do? I said sure tell fomoco to build my R. She said should i open a case file? I said sure. She asked if ok to send link message to my dealer i said i think my dealer is best dealer in country. She said should i open a case file? I asked if it would help? She said it could. She gave me 2 case file numbers. Then gave me link to say what i thought and how ford could approve. Gave a lengthy answer.

Not sure why but gut feeling while trying to setup my new phone kept checking status on R every 30 min or less.

Well, 30 min ago my status went from nothing to build week of June 12th. CONFIRMED ✅

Hoping this gives me a much needed boost and i can get the lazyitis to ease a bit.

After days of trying have new phone working.

Too bad no ecoboost swap for the N!
With the R, looks like you don’t plan to keep? Do you think there will be any profit left to flip/trade since Ford is keeping track of sales to prevent flips. I saw that somewhere in one of the forums this week that ford is tracking now. Think resale is tougher because of the problems that shut down the builds? With the 24s having the updated design (interior and exterior), think demand would be reduced?

Ecoboost simply not powerful enough for something with more heft than 4000 lbs like the F100R. Plan is to go 7.3 zilla with 6R140 in the N.

The R now scheduled for firm week of date I am still not sure what I will do. Without question will take delivery of the R but I also had a 250 on order that just showed up at railyard near dealer on Tuesday afternoon. Not enough $$ for both. Trying to work out a plan with dealer to figure out what to do. Still have the 1966 Cyclone GT (Dream Car) deal going on also.

It will be a few weeks before I decide what to buy/keep what to let go.
I may let another older truck go if possible.
Only time will tell right now.

Only for sure right now is take delivery of the R.

The R is special, good call on getting that. The 250
can be had, or another 250 can be had, at any time. Relatively speaking.
The 250 will be another that will be highly unlikely to be replaced. The HO engine is only 10% of total production. Add that into a Regular Cab 4x4 and will be much harder to come by than the R. Especially the way I had it equipped. Oh well, will see how it all plays out in end. Dealer has not notified me of the 250 being at dealer yet or PDI done or the Winch installed. For sure will go look, take for a drive and drool. If they want to wait a while it is possible I may end up with it yet. Kinda like one of my projects. The plan is a total disaster but comes together in the end.
What dealership?
Only MSRP dealer in town . . Only dealer I will ever buy from. 59th and grand dealer. Friend is now the GM.

The R is at least 10x over my paygrade and could not qualify for a loan at the 10% so will wait and see what happens after I drive it home. My middle daughter has a 40x100 shop I could hide it in for a while . . I am sure if I let her family take it for icecream or donuts once per month I could keep it there for a while. I bet the grandsons would forget about me selling their favorite truck F100R after a few test drives in the R. Let them push a few buttons and steer it a bit.

My neighbor and I both ordered new Super Duties last year from Bell, but we paid under MSRP. I wish I would've known, I would've given you the guy's contact. It is cool they got you a Raptor R allotment, which I definitely wouldn't be able to do.

RaptorR at msrp. Next cheapest dealer I have found was to their best customers 20k over MSRP. Most are getting 30K+ Over so I was very fortunate to be able to get MSRP on a R. With a typical current price of 160k I will be in a good position if I decide to let it go. As of today I want to try everything possible to keep it. So, I better get busy on current stuff vs wasting time on the net.
The F250 is Z plan pricing which amounts to 7k off of MSRP which is over 10% off

I just learned that June 12 is actual build day not build week! So i should see in production status the week before then it should show built by June 15th. Then 30days after to actual delivery. Hoping to have it by July 14 my retirement day.

Excellent! My last day in the office before I retire from the Army is 28 July. I'll continue to work, but plan to be part-time.

I don’t know if any Dealers are honor the x plan. If you are a veteran or your employer has ties to Ford you may qualify. I think it was 2% back of dealer cost.
I was offered Z plan which is largest discount.
I have that in writing.
It is 2505.00 less than X plan.
MSRP is 66745.00
My cost is 60446.91 or
6298.09 savings plus the nearly 10% tax on that amount. Or a bit shy of 7000.00 savings. Thats a ton on a truck so many dealers are asking and getting 10k over on plus other fees.
Plus on Z plan only other cost is a very small admin fee. That is what makes the 250 such a good deal. Then subtract another 20-30k off that and it’s a very good deal for a new truck exactly like i want it.

Here is how i ordered. Basic stuff but working truck none of the fancy stuff.
A truck that should get 25 mpg highway
Tow bumper pull 20,000 lbs
22,700 gooseneck
Payload 4000 lb plus 300 lb passenger.
The 6.7 HO is only 10% of production.

I have gotten very deep into N Crew. Complete frame forward of box completely stripped of all brackets, mounts prepping to do it just once.
Few riveted items to remove yet. Ne nice to blast, primer & paint by end of day tomorrow.
Better get busy as not much daylight left now.

Left off here. Sun was going down.
Removed probably 60 Rivets
Cutoff wheel to heads, air chisel, then drill centers, air hammer then repeat. Plasma cutter, sledge hammer those rivets not meant to come out. Many areas there were 3 layers of frame and each much thicker than F100/250.
Newest plan is to sandblast & paint on Monday.

Uncle Mel stopped by to help on friday to get ball rolling. Once again too hot to keep going without cool off breaks
Easier in long run to pull front axle & suspension. Removing cross members to help get nook n crannies plus any surface rust between pieces.
Bit windy at times. Even tho tied down bit dmg to awnings. No way can i work outside at 100 in direct sun all day.

Absolutely no for sure updated anything on RaptorR & nothing yet to indicate there will be a 24 R. For the most part those wanna-be “news” authority place see something in camo & make up something with a headline strictly to get views. Wrong info 98.267% of the time.

I see those camo test trucks a lot on the US 60 between Superior and Show Low; usually pulling a weighted flatbed or a dummy horse trailer. It’s 5000+ feet of elevation change, twisty, winding road with switchbacks and steep up/down grade changes through the Salt River Canyon. And 115+F in the Summer…

That makes three of us pulling the plug in July.
38 years with the same company for me.
Congrats!
Seriously, congratulations to all of you that's retiring 🍻
Thanks!
Like Tony says, congratulations. I wasn't sure I'd like retirement but 28 years in, I've adjusted to it.
Haha 😂 i have a feeling i will adjust right in the first 3 seconds.
Not so sure i will be like Uncle Mel tho doing a full frame swap when i turn 81 yrs old! But I probably wont forget the frame swap if i make it to 81.
I just retired this month after 42 years hospital work. It is pretty great not having an end point to wrap up projects for the work stretch.
Congrats!

I am trying to convince the wife we gotta find a way for her to retire at 62 or before. (She will be 60 in a few months. Vs waiting for 67 or whatever age would be.

Congrats to all who are retiring soon! I've been retired since '16...I think anyone with hobbies/interests will enjoy it, except for the inevitable aches and pains.

So sorry to hijack the current subject, but how do you put the frame back together, nuts and bolts? Or, can you actually do factory riveting in your back yard? I can't wait to see the further progress.

Randy, I started collecting Social Security at 62. Because Liane didn't work 10 years (40 quarters) outside the home, she didn't collect anything on her own but she received 50% of the amount I collected. It was kind of a 'no brainer' for me.

The 30% reduction in the Social Security benefit for collecting early is a consideration. All the 'smart' people say wait. My father died before he ever collected a dime so to me a check in the bank is better than an IOU. Collect $700 a month at age 62, wait five years to collect a $1,000 full retirement benefit at 67 or wait 8 years for a $1,240 maximum benefit at 70 makes waiting sound good until you calculate how long you have to live to make up the money in hand versus the IOU. It takes 17 years to make up the difference waiting until 67 and 20 years to make up the difference waiting until 70. If your wife is absolutely sure she'll live to 79 or 82, she should wait. If no one in her family has lived way beyond 80, I'd take the smaller but guaranteed payment.

Here's a simple spreadsheet to show the hypothetical $1,000 full benefit. It doesn't consider Cost of Living increases or changes in the system. I also don't know what month or day of the month your wife turns 62. It makes a difference so I made her birthday October 4, 1963. That would mean she wouldn't collect her first payment until some time in January 2026 (my payments are deposited on the third Wednesday of the month).

Motley Fool explains it like this: "If you were born on the first or second of a month, your birth month in the year you turn 62 is your first month of eligibility. But if you were born on any other day of the month, the following month is when you become eligible for benefits.

For example, if you were born Sept. 15, 1960, you wouldn't be eligible for Social Security benefits until October 2022 because you're only 62 for half of September, and you wouldn't actually get your first check until November. The same rules apply for anyone with a birthday between the 3rd and 31st of a month."
