the little clamp on is only marked "Made in USA" so if anyone knows more about this I'd appreciate it

I recommend hitting the “unwatch” button.
Not my era, but I did have a 1/2-inch set I traded to OTG. Those are cleeeeeeaaaaan! Wow.Stevens Walden 3/8 and 1/4 inch sets.
Jury still out, but one strong theory is Vlchek. They look cad. I would've leapt at those for $10 maybe especially because of the holder. But I avidly collect "S" wrench sets.If anyone knows what the S wrench set is, please let me know. No brand markings. I think I probably overpaid for this at $10, but it kinda spoke to me with the cool holder.
Nothing else. Only what you see, Jim. If the can was inverted, and that spring-fed plunger was engaged with something, it would release the liquid contents. I answered you on the 'Metal Cans' thread and posted additional photos. Thanks kindly! Is there a spring valve in the cap...?
Well if you want this set they’re yours. They look cad to me too.Not my era, but I did have a 1/2-inch set I traded to OTG. Those are cleeeeeeaaaaan! Wow.

Which edition is this? I have the 1917 edition which is only 5 volumes when complete, and I see yours would be 6 volumes.

I'm not riled up....Genog- oldman roger's comment was a compliment, not derogatory. He was saying you made a good find on the ratcheting wrenches. As the thread host I am actually keeping tally of "*****" received by each indivual. In other words, good on you! I think you misunderstood OMR's comment![]()

I like the sign about dress requirements, maybe for a restaurant, "Please remove your hats". Even more appropriate today, in my opinion. Some other good signs there too.but I went to look anyway, brought home a few thing.
If you brought home everything in the photos, that's a massive haul!...brought home a few things.
No need for me to use the ignore button, just a miss understanding.
That Coldspot is way cool (pun intended!), Smoke! My 1948 version (Post in thread '2014 Garage sale thread!' https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/2014-garage-sale-thread.230345/post-4354876) is on of my most prized picks and is still chugging away in my garage 9 years later. Funny, you were the first person to reply to my post back then.I’m still lamenting my left behind item yesterday. The Coldspot refrigerator is a Sears brand that would stop production in 1976 when it was replaced by kenmore. The refrigerator was in a basement and would have required to be extracted up a whole flight of stairs. I would have also needed to have a proper furniture dolly and several friends to help muscle it up to ground level. Also the impending “must be out by 5pm” didn’t help my cause. Just ***** have to have to walk away from something so cool. It looked like this. The v handle was intact and working![]()
Ha ha I wishI have had good luck swinging by a sale the day after and swooping on things like this, Smoke. I am sure you know a Craftsman collector or two who could help you, and I bet that it is still there and they would LOVE someone to wrestle that out of the basement for them.
Ha ha. I love it. I’ll get one some day. Preferably one that is on ground level and when I am prepared so I can bring a lift gate truck. That Coldspot is way cool (pun intended!), Smoke! If you can at all swing it, go back and get it. Hire someone off the street, if you have to.
I found the same Walden 1/4” drive box with a few tools in it a couple of months ago. I couldn’t find it in a catalog so I gave it my best shot on what should go in it. Unfortunately, I don’t have an extra flex handle but they aren’t particularly rare.Ok one more sale, this one was an estate sale in a very well to do part of town and not much interested me in the pics other than a couple of socket sets. This sale was a little unusual in that it didn't open until 3 PM, I got there around 3:30 and was happy to see that the socket sets were still there in addition to a few other pieces I liked.
Stevens Walden 3/8 and 1/4 inch sets. Sadly the 1/4 inch set is missing the hinge/breaker, if anyone has one from this era in mint condition let me know and I'll buy or trade for it! Prices marked are what I paid.
If anyone knows what the S wrench set is, please let me know. No brand markings. I think I probably overpaid for this at $10, but it kinda spoke to me with the cool holder. The Dunlap combo set, Pexto monkeywrench, and Petersen vise grips were another $10.
Grabbed a couple vises, the little clamp on is only marked "Made in USA" so if anyone knows more about this I'd appreciate it ($4). The Craftsman is a Japanese version but should be a good user and my buddies are always looking for cheap user vises, at $8 I'd consider it "inexpensive"
Finally, bought a couple axes but already gave one away so no pics. Here's the Demon which I believe was made by Kelly Works. $5 for yet another rehanging project!

Snerk. If someone talks me through how to post a short video (or GIF?), I would gladly provide a recital! It makes a very loud and impressive ringing!Lots of great finds and deals recently but I really want to hear Lugz play that 'triangle'.
I was in Livonia 3 weeks ago. Did good there then went up to manistee and on the way back hit some good yard sales in Cadillac guy had 6 boxes of tools 1 full of screwdrivers one full of pliers and punch’s 2 full of wrench’s and 2 full of sockets.. everything was 4 for a dollar.. lot of **** and good ****. I went threw all of it.. this was before I joined I should have taken a picture because the post office wrecked my box and I lost good punches and some snap on screwdrivers and some wrench’s . i took most of the Armstrong Williams proto Mac and the specialty screwdrivers got 1 plvmb sliding breaker bar… if it wasn’t for the price of shipping I could have really hit pay dirt as there was a bunch of sk( Wayne ) and old craftsman wrench’s.. probably could have got full sets of wrench’s and sockets .. as it is my one package was 27 pounds and by the time it landed in califorina it was probably 22…I was probably just going to go to Royal Oak flea market, but will probably go to breakfast for Father’s Day. I forgot about it.
We went to Greenmead, in Livonia, a couple weeks ago.
Lot nice stuff. !!! Love the axe. Nice haul ! Cool story .Have actually been out to some sales lately, it'll take a while for me to sort through everything but here are a few of the things I still have laying around in the dining room
This was an interesting sale, the pics had bins full of tools but when I pulled up it was a gated apartment/townhouse complex. I wasn't feeling too optimistic until I got into the garage and saw a bunch of bins full of wrenches and sockets. Initially I was looking at some of the larger wrenches and the gals running the sale said everything in that bin was $5-$10ea so I almost turned around and left. But then they pointed at another bin and said "as much of this as you can fit in a gallon ziplock you can have for $25". So I got to work! I was amazed at how much I got in there and they didn't give me any flak about the ends of the wrenches sticking out of the bag
Armaloy combos:
Armaloy long pattern combos:
Herbrand, Craftsman, Armstrong 3/8" ratchets, rest of it is pretty run of the mill although I'm a fan of the Indestro DBEs
Craftsman =v= combos
The rest of the haul...top is VV, bottom is VA, bottom left is metric. I did have to pay an extra $4 for the mini anvil!

Thanks! Turns out, in inimitable GJ Garage Sale Thread fashion, that it's a kerosene can, tank, or reservoir, for a kerosene heater or stove. Thanks to @WisJim for steering me in that direction on it, to @Outlawmws for noggining it out with me, and to @Provincial and @mikeinri for sharing helpful research. Much more info and pics on the 'Metal containers, cans, etc' thread down on the VB.Love the gas can...
