I don't care how much you paid for the 508. Bluebolt, you **** just for getting your hands on one.

LOL the price of the new jaws ($150 plus) will be more than what I paid for the vise ($125). I wasn't looking for one and I don't need it but hey when does that stop us from buying something.

I keep my dremel accessories in one of those Grip-Loc boxes, they are lightweight but build well and can carry a load.

It was originally Wilton hammered green.
those slots in the top are for the cam rods on the bottom of the handle. It locks the box closed when you pick it up. Full of brace bits including three adjustables. I cut the ends off and use the hell out of brace bits.

Cool box and does it get more American than "Union, Ill"? a steal at that price.

I really like those Moras said:
No, Sheaths are hard plastic with friction fit. Will probably drill hole in handle for paracord neck lanyard - ala' Cody Lundin

Also - the Moras are incredibly sharp and really hold an edge well.

Yeah I love Moras, those must be an older sheath design, I like it. I usually clip mine on a button on my coveralls.

Beer fridge for the garage!!! I scored this 1949 Coldspot fridge out of a stinky basement late in the day of an estate sale. Many had passed it by, so the family really wanted to move it. When they said "C'mon, how about $20?!?" I said "I'll take it!" They even supplied help to get it up the stairs and into the back of my truck.

View media item 44458
The couple whose house was being cleared out had moved into the place 1949 and had lived there continuously since. The Coldspot has been moved to the basement at some point, but the family said it still ran. The inside was grungy and the whole think stank like musty basement.

View media item 44455
However, it responded well to Simplegreen and paper towels and cleaned up nicely. I replaced the door gasket and insulation (it was holding a lot of the basement funk smell) this weekend and plugged it back in.

View media item 44459
It cools (and its cool)! I'm going to stock it as is with beer and soda for the garage, but eventually, I'll strip it down, treat it to a high-end paint job, and put it up in the apartment above the garage.

You **** for this... I have been thinking about a vintage fridge for a while now and can't believe you got such a good deal! They don't make em like they used to :thumb up:

Dive shops and other places sell elastic cord that's a bit smaller diameter than paracord and has about an eighty pound breaking strength. The last thing you want around your neck is paracord. The slightest sharp tug will rope burn you...anything greater will pull you to the ground or in to whatever rotating thing you're leaning on. I use the elastic. I can get away from the tool if I really need to. Still hard to get away, still get a burn, and if whatever has the knife/lanyard lets go you're going to get a busted tooth...it's a trade off. Broken tooth or cut face versus severed head or pulled in to machinery.

Hadn't considered that - good point! Will downgrade to something less than the 550 if I go this route.

Excellent idea!

Thanks, Smokeshow. I too have searched for one off and on, and lucked into this one. The initial asking price was $25, and I was thrown at first by such a low number. I thought it had to be busted or otherwise have something wrong with it. Turns out they just wanted it gone. Those kind of estate sales are the best ones.

I also bought a handful of old files, two small pulleys and a coping saw for another $5, I think. It was a good day.

Found a nice, heavy duty Delta table saw this weekend for $200, it's in great shape. Gotta get it home, but that probably won't happen until next weekend. I'll post up some pics then.

YOU **** BLUE!!!!

Same here Rick, there is one in good condition but the guy wants $400 for it and there is one for $200 that does not work(shown below), then my old landlord has a General Electric but the condition is ROUGH to say the least and it also does not work but he thinks it's worth a lot because it's "old"....

Is there any easy way to repair one that does not cool?

We had one of those Coldspots when I was a kid 40+ years ago.

Power brown out killed it. Probably the only thing that would...

Btw you **** !

LOL nine4gmc. that would look good with my old and working Hotpoint B&W salmon and white portable tube TV on top. :)

Many of those old fridge units have hard to find parts yhese days , and the fact that many if not most fridges of that vintage are taken away when a new fridge is bought vs. kept in service like old days and then scrapped for $$ by the hauler means used parts are unlikely as well.

Give it long enough and I bet you could get it running, but it;ll take patience.

BTDT with a buddy and his vintage garage set up.

I love pics of the old electric ice boxes.

But, have to post mine which is just a little bit older!!!

Picked it up at yard sale in July. Stripped the customary 3 coats of paint (two white and always one green).

Have some work to do on making of a flip board for front base and little repair on leg, before I'll put on the finish.

Seeger brand, Model 30, made in St. Paul MN. It is definitely one heavy beast.

Once get it done, want to put a block of ice in it one time and see what temp it will drop down to during the trial. Like the idea of putting a big temp gauge like saw in the electric plug in ones in GJ, to take a picture of and record the event.

Saw this last week at a local pawn shop. Went back today and picked it up.

It is in really good shape. Everything works well and the hinges are all tight. It is also extremely clean on the inside with very little wear. It cost me $25.

I have no idea how old it is. I don't know how to date Kennedy boxes.

Last fleas and sales of the season means weird finds.

Retro issue Pontiac metal sign for our own Super Moderator Bull for $5.

20 oz. Plumb that needs a new handle for $3.
Proto Challenger USA 1/4" driver for $1.

And a 3/8" Husky USA fine tooth ratchet that needs a ATF soak with the ever elusive knurlled square drive add-on collar.

Don't know wtf it is , but they seem rare. Knida looks legit but no marks on the unicorn twist collar.

Lots more to follow.

:)

^ ^ JJJrmx5 . . . . Cool . . more like AWESOME . . . Pontiac Service sign for $5 . . . YOU **** !!

The add-on collar for ratchet is "Finger Drive" functionality so you can turn with fingers when bolt is so loose that turning ratchet is not working. Very handy to have.

It's the cantilever box. I have one that I used in construction for electrician's tools. Everything not on my tool belt was in the box and it was locked and kept in the gang box at night.

Auction stuff this week!

Got three lots in this weeks auction.

First, a Plvmb 1/2" ratchet, 1/2" breaker bar, 2 extensions, and some sockets;
i-tB2gKt8-M.jpg

i-TxXGcQs-M.jpg

i-2QV8W7g-Ti.jpg

They cleaned up easily with a brush in the parts washer:
i-CDqrFLX-M.jpg

i-hJPqdbP-M.jpg

I paid $16 for the Plvmb stuff. I'll probably keep the ratchet, breaker and extensions, but if anyone needs some 1/2" drive, 12pt. Plvmb sockets, let me know. I got a 1", 5/8", 9/16", 1/2" and 7/16" shallow and a deep 3/4"

Then, there was a box with several rolls of brass shim stock and some reels of wire:
i-9B4fszB-M.jpg

i-PHFXGTh-Ti.jpg

i-Qkw5gGL-M.jpg

I don't have an immediate use for the shim stock, but when I do, it'll be worth its weight in . . . . . brass!
I paid $11 for that lot.

Then, I got a wood tote:
i-vTjmhBG-M.jpg

With 54 files in it:
i-WpgHZSg-M.jpg

i-b6rcnGv-M.jpg

i-QbVgqDH-Ti.jpg

i-P5qwvJq-M.jpg

There are large mill files, ******* files, round files, square files, triangular files, half-round files, etc. and about ten handles as well.
Most are Nicholson, and the rest are all quality USA made brands or Austrian.
Most are still sharp and clean, and only a few will require time with a file card to clear them of debris and rust.

I paid $27 for that lot, or 50 cents a file.

The box also had a grinding wheel cleaner tool and a couple of odds and ends in it.

I really like the old, iron file handle here:
