Quick update.
Starting in 2019 had 3 prior nasty bouts with pancreatitis. Mayo doc said it was not their job to figure out cause just make me comfortable enough to send me home.

It must have flared up again in middle of the altitude sickness as last week spent most of time in bed in pain. Finally Saturday wife dragged me to Mayo a place i said i would never return too but they had all records from 3 prior visits.

Prior visits they did bunches of tests for heart costing us a small fortune out of network deductibles on top of normal.

This time i said check Lipase numbers sure i have pancreatitis once again. Pain now through the roof.
They do a IV but miss vein, another nurse draws blood. They start pumping fluids & pain meds into the missed IV for hours. Telling them that arm really hurts pain meds not working.
It was hours later when i got a room and told nurse IV hurts. One look she said yes they missed it’s all going in your arm! Arm was like a balloon.
So much pain all over. Here it is now Tuesday and arm still hurts and swollen.

WTH Randy, why you in the shop?. Throw a rod?, rust repair?, new U-joints, blinker fluid replacement- what gives bud. And I hope for your sake they didn't need to plug into your OBD port for diagnostics.

I dialed in my ford scan tool I have it set for each needle poke if they miss it dials Mayo corporate.
Just had another needle poke 3:00 pm sharp or 19 min ago. They must not know what to do with the Ford blue.
30 min or so to decide if they let me go home or not. Zilla n R are calling me along with a Cyclone

My RaptorR now at railyard 8 miles from my dealer. Truck will go from railyard to a friend who works at dealer and is western states Ford GT tech. He is currently on vacation and will return to work on Wednesday to do PDI.
I hope to go take sneak peak in next couple days as soon as i get my free get out of jail card.

Holy hell Randy. I’m real sorry to hear this. Pancreatitis is noooo joke. I had one acute severe attack 5yrs ago that took me out for three weeks. Since then it’s been a constant battle watching my diet. I maybe have 1-2 bad sessions a month, but catching them early (meds) only knocks me on my *** for a few hours.

Randy, Get Well. I have chronic pancreatitis. Have had it since 2001. It never will get better for me. Has changed my life since I can't digest food. Also am diabetic now. Average 5 shots a day plus testing. If you drink,Stop. Insist the doctors find the cause before it gets chronic. For me, the cause turned out to be gal bladder stones I didn't know I had. They found out after they opened me up to remove the damaged portion of the pancreas and removed the gal bladder at the same time. The stones had blocked the ducts causing the fluid to damage the pancreas. Recovery was very long. Please insist they find the cause. Best of luck.

Sounds similar to my experience. They went in to do a roto router on my bile duct and a stent between it and my gallbladder. I literally came too during that operation trying to pull the breathing tube out to tell them something was REALLY WRONG. So in their infinite wisdom they dumped the gas on me and out I went.

The rest of the story from there is crazy fd up and not worth telling about the shear incompetence of the hospital I was at.

But I’ll tell ya this. I’ve done some great ones on my body over the decades. Crushed left leg, busted three verts in the lower back, ripped my left hand in half, busted neck and those are just the good ones that resulted in extended stays.

But that pancreatic attack for the first four days was every bit as intense as breaking my neck. I don’t wish that on anyone.

This is my 4th trip to Mayo with pancreatitis
My last trip in was a really bad one. My Lipase was over 2100, my fever was so high didn’t think i would make it, blood pressure after blood pressure pills was over 220.
In the end I asked the doctor the cause and she said. “It is not our job to find the cause, our job here is to make you comfortable enough to send home” go see your regular doctor!
I was absolutely floored! Vowed i would never return. That was after we were told all was covered by insurance but some of those big $ tests on heart insurance said were out of network in network deductible was 6000.00 plus 20% of bill. We then had to pay 9000.00 out of network plus 80%. Costs were in the 10’s of thousands for tests done to cover there own asses because heart of course when Lipase obviously showed true story.

Got a bit wound up there.
To finish, this time they did find many stones and did the removal of Gallbladder.
Nearly all of the Big ticket items was heart related. I also have on my side they did all or most of work tests before I signed anything.

I sure am not letting this slide after what they did to me last visit. My arm looked like popeye the sailor man.
Sure glad those nurses made entries and used the scan tool on my bracelet for each Hot pack or other with a time stamp.
I will not go in too deep until I hear back from Corporate in Rochester. I am going to have to look back if I posted about my last time there here. That was a doozy too. I will combine them now.

I woke up around Valentines day in the ICU of the best trauma hospital around. UMMC/ShockTruma. Was told the local hospital was loosing me and didn't know how to treat what I had. A nurse pulled my son aside and told him: if you care about this person, get him out of here. My son, who was at the time a young Baltimore police officer, set up a transfer to shock trauma. The doctors in the first hospital wouldn't release me. I'm told my son, as a showing armed citizen, took the doctor to a stairwell at 3AM and gave him choice. A private ambulance showed up and took me to Shock Trauma within the hour. Love my son. Please stay on top of yours.

I can say I have never had a drop of any kind of booze in my lifetime!
My vice is too many $$ in cars n trucks and too much time in shop attempting to get something done. My health has always taken a beating so hoping to make some much needed changes. Many changes already after selling the '66 truck. Selling it turned out to be a life saver in many ways.
One would think Mayo was top of food chain. I can assume the operation was done proper but did learn a big LIE from one of the doctors when I asked what looked like burns and felt like burns all over my stomach and chest. It was the first thing I felt after coming too, my stomach and chest felt on fire. I asked doc he gave quick lie. I later learned from a nurse the truth!

The burnt skin starting to ease off but both arms still really sore & swollen from bad IV’s and missed blood draws. Yet there were those that drew blood did not feel even a poke done gone in seconds. Goes to show the poor training so many have. Unreal. Still bruising on one hand it looked more like stitching trying to hit vein bs normal.

Less pain from 4 areas they cut me open.

Who would think one would get way dehydrated while in hospital?

My R still in rail depot jail with zero clue when it will be released.

On another note the 7.3 engine package showed up and my luck it has a bunch of damage. Looks like it fell off forklift or loading dock onto plywood.
Since i am supposed to be 20 lb max can’t do much. Did not get VIN yet as promised so i can find proper parts. Hoping to get the FT engine package next to zilla for huge comparison in weight and dimensions. Sure hope it fits!

Ideally just making an adapter to bolt stock driveshaft to the 6R140 would be great then just put engine in that location.

Radiator spec is 35lb so that is even too heavy. May have outdone myself lifting Y pipe. Hoping to use 2023 F650 exhaust and Cat.
Damage to metal crate, right exhaust shield, all right side plug wires, couple spark plugs, at least 2 broken coils, 2 injectors, fuel rail with mounting hardware, valve cover broke in 3 places, both engine and transmission tubes and dipsticks damaged, fuel line, fan shroud, wire bracket for clutch fan, radiator and prob forgot a few things.

I did learn the 2023’s have larger throttle body, better intake manifold and forget what else for an additional 15 hp.
So once PCM unlocked it should be 445hp & 475tq

I was not aware all the body harnesses would be cut off and mass air wire to airbox would be cut. Never are as cheap as one might think.

Sounded like a drop it in turn key package.
Today i asked at least 5 times what all is needed to make it run. Got no answer.

Obvious signs engine tipped completely over with stuff damaged on top of right side plus a bunch of transmission fluid.
Also the Y pipe was standing near vertical and there is plywood jammed between pipe and shield.

Randy, I know what you mean. I thought my amputated arm, broken teeth, fractured skull would hurt really bad. They certainly hurt but no where near as much as the spot on my ankle where they cut a vein to insert an IV (regular veins were collapsed from loss of blood). Nurse Ratched delighted in squeezing the bag of frozen blood attached to my IV -- it would wake me up from a Morphine nap when the ice pick reached my groin.

Someone sure wrecked your engine. Maybe King Kong, maybe Godzilla. It sure took a lot of force to tweak that I-beam. Can't imagine what pushed hard enough to tweak the radiator on the frame cross-members.

Walking around nearly back to normal as long as I don’t bend over to pick something up but sound’s about .00001% what you have gone through.

Good thing they didn't have vasopressors running in that IV, you would have lost your arm. I worked in a hospital for 42 years, some people are good at what they do and some are not. Some care a great deal about what they do and some don't. You don't know which one you're going to get. There are people at the place I worked that I would not want taking care of me.

Stuff happens & I have to deal with it. It was shipped from far east Canada not so easy to just send back.
Like anything I will have to deal with it and follow the rules when something is damaged or goes haywire.
It was clearly not the senders fault. I did file claim with ABF within minutes of opening package and pointed out dmg to driver that was visible.
I was only hours out of hospital and in no condition to deal with at that exact time.
I filed claim with shipper so now need to follow the proper steps and see what they say when they get the bill less labor to repair.
If they do a deny then at that time will lean on shipper to see if they can make something happen on their end.

All about patience my friend. although a knee jerk idea would be send it back.
There could be a silver lining in this so will see how it plays out. Wait n see like everything else these days.

After a very stressful 348 days waiting on my RaptorR so far even a week or so waiting on outcome for this is a walk in the park.
Goal is to turn it into a better outcome. It's all cosmetic stuff best I can tell. I might be able to do a few upgrades with different parts vs OEM ford stuff. Only time will tell.

This will help me keep busy while waiting for the R to show up. Hoping Wednesday will be the big day. If not even the 14th would be cool as that is day I RETIRE.

Heck, you can sell me the 7.3 to transplant into Lucille!! The ecoboost is not doing to well and frankly just tired of it.
Did you decide if funding the R was still feasible? I thought you said all these vehicles you were working and the cyclone buy would negate the R? The 24 R looks to be pretty sweet with the new shock setup, HUD, and new dash. Either way, make sure you share pictures- hope it’s not a Prius.
