New slab - installing RaceDeck - pre-treat?

I'm about to put down Racedeck Freeflow on about 1000sq ft of cement slab garage. Concrete is 9+ months old.

I was considering putting down some type of sealer first. But I'm not looking to spend $1000 on product for floor that may never be seen again.

I know exactly where my old cars lightly leak and am diligent on having that area protected.

Any ideas on something economical that is still worth the hassle or just put down the racedeck?

I ordered the armorpoxy supratile's which I believe are similar to the racedeck. They should be in stock in approximately another 6 weeks (gray and blue checkboard and the blue had to be ordered), hopefully the new floor will be poured in the next 2 weeks. I was told that I didn't need to protect the floor under the tiles but like you are asking, I'm going to anyway. They recommended I wait at least 30 days, then apply a polyaspartic coating, then install the tiles. Not sure what the coating is going to cost yet but mine is also around 1000 sqft. Even if it's a grand, it's a drop in the bucket compared to the entire project.

I would guess your 9 month old slab had some sort of sealer put on it? You don't really need to do anything but sweep out your garage and install your RaceDeck.

Putting Supratile over Polyasparctic on a new floor? Who advised that? Maybe a sealer or densifier but anything else is a waste of money.

I have a question for those that are saying no sealer is needed. If you accidentally spill a quart of used engine oil, or ant freeze or whatever doesnt it go through the racedeck and end up on the concrete ? If so wouldnt you want to have some type of protection ?

I personally dont like the tiles so it doesnt matter to me but just curious.

Hi
A few things in regard to your question. RaceDeck seams are pretty tight and cause hydro-static tension ( so it would not pour through, maybe drip and you can easily pop out a tile to wipe if needed) .. Most builders typically have some sort of base sealer on the raw concrete, have you tested a spot?

Sprinkle some water droplets onto your slab, if the water readily soaks/absorbs into the slab I would seal it with a couple of coats of Wolverine's AcryliSeal 3501 then snap those tiles down! (y) (y)
