I do not know much about lathes but I saw this on my local Craigslist for free and thought, maybe? Hopefully some with knowledge of this or an opinon ( did I just ask for opinions from this forum??, LOL) could discuss.
Thanks,
Griff

Dang, if thats a legit post someone is going to get a major score.
Looks like a boat anchor.

I can see it now, dad died, don't know anything about it, party can't power it on. Someone spends time to haul it off, put power to it because "FREE CNC", then they figure out the controls are blown and NLA.

Even in operable condition I can't imagine that would bring a high $.

Usually the case with old CNC, or its just plain worn out. Even fully working they are sometimes not worth the cost of a machine mover to shift it.

Luckily nowadays is possible to retrofit cheap ish modern CNC controls to many old machines if you have some skill and it can be a good way for a home guy to get working machine to run low volume parts for cheap.

Could be ok, could be a boat anchor. No way of telling without running it. Might be ok for the tolerances you're running, might not be. If you don't know much about lathes this isn't the one to learn on. The cost of getting it to your facility isn't cheap, neither is running electrical, and pneumatics (presumed) to it. It could be the find of a lifetime (free) if the condition can be determined by test running it. It's an older model that may be leaking hydraulic fluid everywhere, circuit boards no longer available, and/or expensive repairs needed that are more trouble than it's worth. Unless you have a machining operation and a contract to supply I'd pass it on to someone that does. JMO
