I found this impact socket at a sale and I'm curious what it might be used for. It's a Cornwell USA, 1/2" drive socket and has the inscription of what looks like "X 9041"

Any ideas? :D

Herbrand made one. Google “Herbrand 251 “ or “271”. I’m not sure the number. It is for a retaining nut in Ford rear ends. I’m not sure yours is the same, but it looks similar. The Herbrand is 3/8” drive. I’ll measure the opening size and send a picture later today.

lol, that's a good one ask Cornwell.

That answer made my day...When I was writing my big Cornwell post story for the GJ I had to call Cornwell and ask a few questions for my story, turns out the nice lady at Cornwell was clueless. Now get this back when I wrote the post all she could say was...

Ask the people at Alloy Artifacts, good answer!:):rolleyes::rolleyes::eek:
