Michigan And Florida too!
Two vises for $15?? You ****!!!

Maybe it's just the picture, but I don't see any rust to speak of. Dirt and grime--yes, but the e-tank won't do anything for that. Degreaser or Simple Green and a wire brush should be all you need.
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I usually do a deep clean beforehand. It may not need it.

Today I traveled to a tag sale a bit farther than I usually do, north into the next state for the sole purpose of looking at a Ford Ranger pickup being offered in the sale. The truck was extremely nice, a 2004 with low miles and three pedals, but priced well above what I wanted to spend. Before leaving I decided I might as well take a tour of the place and checked out a small wood shop. Among the imported hand tools and a few relatively modern power tools was a little multitool with a supply of bits stored in the handle. For $2.00 it made the trip worthwhile. I've also posted it in Lugz's Multitool thread here: Hollow handle (wooden) multi-bit tools

Don't recall seeing this warning, but IMO a good one for any stove - you are cooking food on it...
With all the noxious, if not toxic additives to modern RUG, I'd say the same for "Unleaded" RUG.

Garage sale this morning. New owner cleaning out garage and selling off previous owner’s tools. Tried to get there before opening but didn’t happen. Ended up taking the baby. Her first sale! Forgot pics.

Got there 1/2 hr after start. No one there but seller and one neighbor. Guy let me park the baby near the garage AC. She graciously let Daddy look for a while through the cabinet containing all the tools.

While the neighbor talked the seller’s ear off about wild animals and his wife, a family member dying from canned goods, his son being a cage fighter, and every other thing under the sun (literally), I cleaned out all the Snap-On, Blue-Point, Mac, Matco, Craftsman, Duro-Indestro, and other USA tools. Also a good working Dewalt setup.

Despite the bulk of tools and large box being hauled off by a friend prior to this sale, I still made off with a generous taste of truck brand stuff!

Snap-On saw, ratchet 6 pt metric combos, allens, aircraft drill bits, picks, screwdriver, flip socket, etc.

Mac 3/4 impact extension, deep impact sockets, alignment wrenches, ladyfoot bar, chisel.

Blue Point wheeled bit driver set, puller parts.

Craftsman 6 pt SAE Wrenches, large Allens, etc.

Duro Indestro wrenches, extension, hex socket.

Ampro 1/4 deep set, a Trw socket, 3 J-S by S-K, Stanley Handyman adjustable, Powrkraft ratchet and adapter (not in pic), Goodell Pratt offset screwdriver, Williams clamp, Coyote knife (trashed), Harley wrenches (one modified), Plomb extension.

two sales today one was a farm auction that was 60+ miles away but it lured me in with the Craftsman Wall cabinet pictured below. Note I did not win the bidding as it came very close to $400 and the winner was immediately bidding again anytime anyone bid against him.I believe he was ready to spend $500-600 to get 'er done. The auction company didn't help matters by taking the cabinet off the wall and bounced the contents around flat on a farm wagon. Anyhow I got a Case knife and several sheathes, an(unpictured) long handled Keen Kutter axe ,and on the trip home stopped at a sale reopened from 2 weeks back ,hoping I'd find the missing Whitworth Craftsman wrench and/or the pouch,no luck on that front but found a Record Spokeshave,PowrKraft Chisels, a Volume Socket Set, Snap On No71 ratchet,Channelock needlenose, nail sets, lectrolite deep offset, xcelite stubby. If anyone needs a sheath, let me know.I have no idea why the auctioneer separated the knives from the sheathes/or didn't bother to see what when with what.

The Makita 18V brushless impact with 4.0 AH battery was in the free pile. It had some joint compound splatter on it but cleaned up really nice and works perfect. The battery took a full charge. Why would someone throw something like this in a free pile?

C clamp $1, PC Multi Tool $10, NOS CM ratchet rebuild kits $2/ea, Micro Shop Vac which I've been looking for a long time $4.

Great haul on a bunch of quality USA metal 3bay. Especially the find on the Snap-On metric wrenches and the Matco Serpentine Belt wrench set looks familiar, picked up that same set a couple weeks ago. Well done (y)

3baygarage--there is one item in your excellent haul of which you have two pictures. It appears just below the hacksaw in your first and eighth pictures and looks very much like a tooI I have for pulling motorcycle forks into place on my BSA's. Any additional info on it?

The neighbors and I found three sales on Craigslist, two of which were a waste of time, toolwise. The third sale was in Stateline, NV. and produced a few tools. One DOE was Proto and the other Controlled Steel. The Ridgid 10“ pipe wrench was dated 1948
IMG_9943.jpeg
The rest of the sales were TOOs plus one sale that I had previously visited. I’ll be doing some tool clean up. I was unable to pass on the Craftsman carpenter’s box.IMG_9948.jpegIMG_9949.jpegIMG_9951.jpegIMG_9950.jpegIMG_9947.jpeg
My favorite find of the day was the Barcalo screwdriver that my neighbor scored. I was able pry it away from him.IMG_9944.jpegIMG_4769.png

Nice pics! too bad about the cabinet.

Craftsman carpenter’s box.

I have a couple of these, one ful of hand saws placed vertically (Lined the bottom to pad the blade teeth) and another full of long handled tools like punces, band shear/cutter, bolt cutters... with a 1X across each end of the top, these rectangular carry boxes stack well...

That's the Blue Point puller. I'll check the part # later on because I haven't had a chance. Might be. The guy was a Harley guy.

Alinc- nice find on the Volume set! Too bad the Craftsman cabinet ran away like that. Doesn't really surprise me these days.

The Mrs. went into Austin for some shopping so little man and I went to the local indoor flea market. Didn't expect to find anything but ended up buying these two beryllium hammers ($5 each) and three NOS Stanley Workmaster ratchets in their original packaging ($12 each). Copyright 1981 on the ratchets. Never seen the "flip drive" action on them before. Gonna sell these to buy more tools.

A local guy ,here on GJ Shadowrulez had alerted me to the sale and he collects license plates and I would have bid on his behalf, his limits were $80,$80,$30,$30 the plates ended up at $260,$275, $110,$80. Not sure if it was auction fever or just inflation.
I'm going to clean up the set and dig around a bit and see what info I can find on the set. At first glance they look Williams/Vulcanish to me, as far as numbering/style.

So I'm at the other end of the garage sale spectrum today setting up shop at a PAST tool sale in my hometown, practically. 20 tables, at least 50 vendors and buyers.

My table, couple of vises under, few things sold before the table was fully set up, must have been underpriced
Well, that was a mixed emotion event. I sold $226, and only bought $97, so a financial gain. Most items I sold were flipped at 4 to 6x what I paid for them, so pleased with that. But unfortunately, the dozen or more planes I brought were not even looked at, nor the Kennedy box. The crew was interested in my two Craftsman vises, and 150 yo brass square, but no one countered my pricing. Only had a few negotiating deals, and as I said above, a couple of things sold quick at asking, so I must have been low on them.

Couple of fun things, one guy was wearing a shirt from the Oregon Heritage show, held by I believe the same group that held the swap that I attended w @bmwrd0 back in June. He was new to tool gathering, so had to talk his enthusiasm back to reality to avoid him from overpaying for a tool (of mine).

One of my tool hunting buddies was there, and we compared notes on an adjusting screw he made for a tool of mine, looking at other similar tools, and similar vintage adjusters for ideas. We also decided he might want to remake the tool the new guy above was so excited for, just as a learning opportunity.

My purchases were mostly from a vendor who was getting out of the business, his house flooded in our January rains, and some tools ruined, so he had bigger things he’d rather deal with. Couple of planes and rules. Another purchase was a grab bag, with tools donated by a member, to offset hall rental fees, at $5 each. Mine contained 2 Klein wide jaw Adjustable wrenches, a Williams 8”, and a small vise grip w Welding jaws.

PXL_20230812_184726912-X3.jpg

Gave the VG to my buddy. Finally, a huge carving gouge at 60mm wide, and a #5 sweep.

PXL_20230812_235739800-X3.jpg

On the way home I stopped at two GS advertising tools, one was mid to low end homeowner contractor tools, but a few air nailers, most I already had. The other had a few different tools, the highlight was the Beall wood threading kit, followed by a pair of Compton U set scissors, which I knew to grab due to @Private Lugnutz raving about them. The two Saws are Disston & Sons, and the air tool is an Astro, so must be good. I have nothing to drive it for more than a second or two, but the bit is probably worth what I paid for the tool.

Drug the wife to an Antique Tractor show today. There were some interesting things at the swap meet part, but I left with just this Milwaukee metal shear for $12. I dont need one often, but I have some barn work comig up that they will come in handy for.
20230812_204802.jpg

I also found a vintage Boxing newspaper with Muhammad Ali on it that would look good framed in my office. I asked the guy "how much?" And he pulled it out and handed it to me and said "enjoy it". Then when I was at another booth, he walked up and handed me a vintage Baseball magazine!

Not really yard sale but was helping my parents aunt and cousin clean up and rearrange my grandparents house today. Got told by my aunt who is going to control the estate when the time comes. She told me grandpa is going to have someone clean out the shed and throw everything out so go in there and get what you want.. my dad told me his toolbox was in there from when he went to mechanic school with my uncle and it should be full of sk tools.. unfortunately my grandpa or my dads younger brother honestly probably both got into them and most of the sk stuff was gone. Anyway I ended up with another arc welder I didn’t need and table saw I didn’t need a aluminum tool box that I will put on my trailer and my dads tool box and another box that had random tools in it. Yard tools that I will give to my coworker and later on I will get the tools out of the garage don’t want my grandpa to go without even no he reallycan’t use them anymore. Got some nos Castors signs and some 35 gallon penzoil barrels..in the tools was a odd snap on ratchets some kd split ring plyers.. new Britain sockets craftsman v sockets westward sk and craftsman husky wrenchs and just radon **** that I wont get rid of and will find a home for in one of my boxes. Usually I could careless about small tool boxes as I have a stack of old craftsman ones that are taking up room. But my dads is a remline I’ve never heard of them. I’m I’m going to build a tool set for it.8A882419-DC03-47D9-8689-B2E309BC0B2B.jpeg0890BD15-1BA6-471E-AE97-EBB4881C71CE.jpeg5FCBC410-ACBE-4F8B-A96D-E650D3C57091.jpegA50566DF-92C3-4066-87B9-1BC44AC6D783.jpeg7439248C-1671-4E9F-B19B-2EB510432774.jpeg782100BF-D432-4849-A621-A31C0EDD252A.jpeg93CDE1ED-BC66-4BF9-836A-F1C5C987F06D.jpeg82BB23FC-BE0F-4FC5-9886-915DEA86EAF8.jpeg

Yep, refer ratchet - It looks like you also got a WWI bayonet? is it US?

That size barrel is very handy for a shop garbage can or loose stock, 3-6 ft long.
