Probably not good enough for a "you ****", but I am very happy with this lightly used Snap-on top and bottom box.

$800. It was on my way home from picking up a windshield for my 69 Opel GT.

Lightly used some corrosion on bottom drawer and the cabinet right below that drawer. Won't be hard to touch up. Have not even cleaned it up yet.
Got both keys.

I believe this is about 72 to 73 vintage. This will look good next to my 1968 Craftsman upper and lower box.

Nice set , I have the same top at home just not lightly used like yours.
your boxes are probably from 1975 to about 80. I believe around 81 or 82
was when they put the aluminum trim on the drawer handles.
the manufacture date and model for your boxes should be stamped on the
back on the top or lower corners.

Nice KR537/557 Combo. Very popular setup in the 80's.
Enjoy.

I bought the same set up a few months ago. I paid $500, but mine is in a lot rougher shape. Doesn't sound like $800 is too bad of a price.

The thing is a tank for sure. The top box weighs a ton.

If it's not too much trouble, could you please post a picture of the backside of the lock on the top box. I took mine apart while cleaning it up, and it doesn't seem to be going back how it was. Like a *******, I didn't take any "before" photos before disassembling.

That is a very nice box, I think you paid a fair price and those boxes are in fantastic condition. Hope you post pics with tools.

Found the model and date stamped on back.
KR537 dated 1974

Here are pics of the lock. I need to get that black goo off of there. I think it was a stick-on foam piece that the heat turned into tar. Probably intended to cushion against the drawer fronts. Fortunately, none has transferred to the drawers.

Thank You!!!

By the way, if you need to remove your drawers to do any maintenance on the slides, this Ebay seller has a pretty good price on the drawer slide remover tool. They were basically 1/4 the cost of the Snap On one.

I am sure someone here has done this, but wanted to ask:

Any reason I can't use the US General End Cabinet to hang on the side of this?

I purchased the track tool from snap on two years ago for $2.00 , so unless prices have really jumped that e-bay price for aftermarket seems really high.
