Hello, Im looking at 2 different impact guns and was wondering which one you guys thought was better.

1/2" Ingersoll Rand 2135 TiMax

Mac tools AW612Q

Couldnt really find specs for the Mac tools gun. All I know is it is a hell of alot quieter.

I got the 2135 Ti a few years back after watching a mechanic use it in his shop. It's amazingly awesome for this happy homeowners uses, light and powerful. Reading here also I don't think I've seen a bad word about the IR 2135's.

I have no experience or comparison to offer with the Mac.

IMO, skip the Mac. It's a rebadged Aircat and again, IMO, do not hit very hard or get much tight. A coworker has one. It's a pile of junk. Every job I follow him on, I end up having to retighten everything. He's also had jobs come back because things have loosened up.

I'm running the Matco 1769 currently (about the same as a 2135). It's a much better gun. While I like the Matco (IR), I do have some issues with it and will switch back to Snap-on in the future.

Buy the IR2135 TI,will run forever which you can't kill them and very easy to work on.All I have done to my IRs are change the anvils every 2 years due to use and I know how to rebuild them easily after getting a tune up kit.Snap On's impact wrenches are junk, known for breaking the hammer mechanism which is a huge problem.People swear by or swear at Snap On's impact wrenches.I seen my Matco dealer took a 1/2 drive Snap On impact on trade a couple weeks ago and it was refurbished already.

I bought a 2135 Ti after my BIL used his to remove a stubborn strut mount bolt on my Civic. The cheap gun I had wouldn't budge it nor would the best gun they had in the store (another IR but less powerful). The 2135 has enough juice to do whatever I need.

I already have the IR 2135 TiMax was just curious if the mac one was good. It was a good price but if the 2135 is better I'll just stick with it

Well, that settles that. Next question probably been asked before, impact ratchet? Which one? Are the mac ones any good?

Ingersoll Rands air ratchets again in my opinion, i have been a mechanic since 1975 and used air tools from snap on to mac and the Ingersoll Rand air tools last the longest and have the most power

I have the NitroCat and the 3/8" 90ft.lb. ratchet
and used them on my F350 lugs and ratchet took off stem-links and shock bolts all original rusted and tight.

Thanks, JASTECH

I don't like IR's air ratchets, pile of junk.Have a couple 1/4 drive IR air ratchets that sit in the drawer, were good and went wimpy.OIled them up good, fixed them and stil went wimpy.I have a couple Snap On 3/8 drive air ratchets, the FAR7200 and FAR72B which will put a real shame to the IR109XP with more power and take your hand off if not careful.

Ingersol makes a quiet version of the 2135 when you are ready to replace your current one.

I have a 2135 qtimax. Its really really quiet and powerful. I personally don't buy anything but ir. Be careful with strong air ratchets, they will damn near break your hand if caught between something solid and the ratchet.
