Hmm, newly-registered user.

One, you want the Classifieds section.

Two, it will help you to post your location.

Yes, I did read those before I posted. Also, I was a member a while back. My account is gone now? I am a garage nerd. Last garage had a kegerator, epoxy floors and a rolling door shelf system. I am working on a new project now that I bought a farm. Starting over on the garage. Pretty excited to share pics and answer questions for other members. I am an industrial toolbox expert so I can definitely contribute there. I've been looking through the threads and looking for a place to contribute. So much is already answered! great that the community is so helpful.

Since this is posted in hot deals I'm gonna comment, I did a search for used Lista industrial tool boxes using the examples shown and I think $250 is way too high, $900...not happening. GL

Mornin Sir. I have to ask and am totally sincere this is not a slight or starting **** question. Maybe its my area and experiences that make me ask.
Where did you see Listas or Vidmars for less then what the ^ above ^ guy has?
Cause around here (western NY) even with the economy sucking a decent shape V or L will be minimum of 4-500. If its in great shape and a bigger one closer to 7-800 or more. 250-300 is usually either beat to death or a great deal gone in hours . Thanks Luke

I guess the “hot deals” thing makes you right. Sorry, still trying to figure this forum out. On another note, I will buy as many as you can find me under $250. 😅 No limit. Also I’d pay a finders fee. I’ll even put some here for cost for GJ users. A lot of times you would have to buy several hundred to get that pricing. We can both take credit for that “hot deal”! Thanks for commenting. Opened my eyes a little. Learning every day. Loving getting back in to the community.

Not trying to be a jerk at all, but can you please link or direct me to where you can find Lista's in the above condition for prices that low?

I was just bidding on a bunch at an auction yesterday and they all ended up going $100+ per drawer.

Buddy, that's not even remotely close to what those will sell for. That's a bidspotter auction with pre-bidding and still a day to go.

The ones I mentioned that I was bidding on yesterday that went for $100+ per drawer were also in a bidspotter auction (still local to me, though), and they were $50 or $60 for the whole box until the auction went live. Once the auction got to the boxes, they shot up to $100 or more per drawer. $800 and up for 7 and 8 drawer boxes, more for ones with a higher drawer count.

You can't compare pre-bid pricing with "sold" pricing. It's in no way indicative of what it will truly bring once it goes up on the auction block. Unfortunately, most auctioneers on bidspotter don't disclose the sold prices at the end of the auction so you can't see what they actually brought.

I've bought and sold a decent amount of these boxes over the years to reconfigure my shop as my needs change or evolve. I'm pretty close to this market and can say with certainty that buying/selling these boxes today isn't the same as it was pre-covid. Prices I've passed on, even three years ago, I would jump all over today whether I needed/wanted them or not, just because I know what these sell for.

Actually the $250-$300 units are going fast. Sold 4 yesterday to a GJ guy. Another guy coming out today or tomorrow. So, you're right. They are blemished but not beat. So people are loving them. Sold eight in 3 days. Still have over 100 of these available. lots of $350 units. (more drawers = more money really)

As others have said $100.00 a drawer is pretty typical. For those not familiar Lista and Vidmar are heavy duty industrial cabinets. You can stand in any of the drawers without damaging one. The big risk with buying used is whether you get one that is damaged. They are so damn heavy that they get moved with fork trucks and many times they have thousands of pound worth of tooling, dies, parts etc. inside. This increases the damage risk when moving. If you get one with a sticky drawer or bent corners then it can be a real pain to fix it. We have dozens of these cabinets where I work. They are solid as a rock but if they get abused/damaged they are quite difficult to fix. If the frames get slightly out of square from being moved and then none of the drawers open smoothly again. I would buy used with no problem but you should check every drawer for smooth operation and be under no illusions that it will be an easy fix.

Years ago I ended up with some Lista cabinets that were racked using shipping. After I managed to get the drawers out, I took two of them to an automobile body shop who allowed their top guys to moonlight at the shop on the weekends. They squared it back up and welded the corners to keep it that way. Worked great afterwards. Best $100 I ever spent.
