Hey guys. I’m having issues with my HF 29 gallon compressor. It’s not building pressure past 30psi. I just looked on marketplace and saw this compressor for sale. It’s a 703 compressor. Price seems fair at $375. What do experts think about it? Worth it to get and junk the HF or try to repair the HF compressor?

Seems like a really old compressor that might just be a new project. I can't imagine your other compressor being that hard to fix. Filling only to 30 psi may be a broken reed valve.

It was one of the best compressors you could buy, 53 years ago. Might be a fun resurrection project but I wouldn't trust the tank, or expect it to be trouble free.

At that price if it spins & has oil in it / seller says it works or tells you what's wrong I'd probably jump on it.

I would be ok with rebuilding / testing tank / painting though, and not expect to just plug it in and use it.

I just got home from work. Never heard back from the guy selling the compressor. I’m gonna pop the head of the compressor and see if it is just the valves. I’ll update when I finish it.
